I believe this is the largest mass shooting in Canadian history.  The pos shooter is dead.

needless to say Canada is in shock and in mourning.

My heart goes out to the families of the victims who lost their lives in the incomprehensible events in Nova Scotia. Among them was Const. Heidi Stevenson, who fell in the line of duty. We wish their loved ones strength during this difficult time...Doug Ford, Ontario Premier

Shocking is right. It just doesn’t seem plausible this would happen in the Maritimes... What a tragedy.

With all due respect and knowing how I feel your pain, Sandy Hook, shouldn’t the response be, “you need more guns?” Canada is only fifth, maybe you should be second? Or first? Too bad you don’t have a Putin on the ritz owned NRA talking up firearm ownership with little to no restriction. Time to change your constitution. OR FUCKING NOT.

Again, with all due respect to those lost in Canada but having lived through San Ysidro, Ruby’s, a shit ton more until, Sandy Hook. And then the Pulse, and Parkland and Vegas. And at every turn, with every death, we were told, more guns is the answer. A junior in high school who watched his classmates be murdered, was ridiculed and ostracized. And now, here we are, the carnage spread north, thoughts and prayers. Welcome to my fucking reality for the past 30 years. I’m truly sorry it happened in your country. I can only hope you’ll do the right thing and reduce it from happening. I’m not sure my 2A fellow Americans feel the same. Sorry for that. But they are theirs.

Someone from Halifax can’t be anti-gun? Someone from Halifax can’t understand or feel the pain of 20 1st and 2nd graders being murdered in their classrooms a week before Christmas? And seeing a president have to deal, be affected, age, personalize it, and have to move on and yet, Wayne Lapiere, came out sneering, “the only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun, is a good guy with a gun.” And then, someone from Halifax watches it happen again and again and again, and sees nothing change. And now, the chickens have come home to roost and all you got? Thoughts and prayers, thoughts and fucking prayers. Lets see what happens next, but maybe you’d like to consult with the NRA? Or team Trump Treason as Virginia’s 2A is under siege? Or maybe America, because gun sales are through the roof, again, because of a pandemic?

Once fucking again, I’m sorry this happened. I feel for the victims and their families, loved ones, friends and co-workers. But don’t take comfort in America. Do what is right. Make change for the better. You CAN do it. AmeriCANT.

I only said you were anti-gun because I couldn’t tell from the first post.  Then it seemed you might be American which was weird from the handle. Now I know you are actually from Halifax and are  anti-guns and saying Americans need to change their ways.
I was only trying to understand your rants.

It’s all inconsequential.... I’m just heartbroken for everyone in NS affected by this senseless act of violence.

CBC had an article last night about the shooting that said that there was no information on motive yet "including whether it was related to covid", which took me aback briefly. Related to covid? But thinking about it further, I assume they mean could be related to financial losses/business losses, maybe personal loss. I don't know what else that might be referring to.

AmeriCANT.

You couldn’t just stay out of this thread? Nobody wants to read your rants here. There’s enough of them in other threads. Are u ok? Seriously. Seems like you’re losing it.
You came into this thread simply to complain about someone else coming into this thread to post?

    Oh, the irony.

Complaining about the poster again? Not about the subject to be discussed? Again? Are you okay? Seriously. Seems like you’ve lost it. Why’d you read it, then? Just wondering why you couldn’t ignore or respond with cogence? On a forum full of thoughts and ideas no less, sheesh.
The person who started the thread told you to keep your nonsense out of here. Just echoing his thoughts. You’ve made this thread about you. Man, keep the pm’s coming fellow posters. At least I know I’m not the only one who is sick of this.
That’s funny, I wasn’t quoted. I think you’ve made this about you and your safe space. Sick of what? Differing opinions?

When you can’t refute an alternate argument, be a bully.

    PMs.
The person who started the thread asked you to keep your nonsense out of here. No ones bullying you. Who said anything about a safe space. What are you actually talking about. Holy shit.

I hope this was not Covid 19/financial pressure led to this...but that was a thought that can mind.

however, it seemed welled planned.  The shooter had a police uniform and similar police cruiser that the RCMP use.

With everything going on, mental health is definitely something that I’ve been worried about since this started. What a tragedy

It's something I was wondering about the other day. What kind of future are we setting ourselves up for based on the impacts of this virus? Between the virus and the continued political divides, I'm very intrigued about how children will come out of this time period. Many are resilient as hell and will be fine, but I feel that in some ways there's a fostering of extremism that could result in some serious ramifications 10 - 15 years from now.
    It's a hopeless situation...

No, I actually commented on the topic, which you did not.

Seems you squawked pretty loudly recently when you (mis)perceived that I was commenting on where you could post.
