“Drink The Ocean” is the first song on our new album. When we all got together in the same room for the first time in Seattle we thought it’d be fun to try and record a different approach to this song. Matt kicked it off with a more subtle beat and we all fell in more introspectively and then we let the song build and expand naturally culminating in Britt’s epic solo in the outro. This was our first take of it. It’s one of my favorite songs and I love the live version equally as much as the album version.
“Fallin Out The Sky” is a song Brit brought in to the band. I added the first verse. It’s the first Painted Shield song where the two of us each take a verse singing lead. Stone and Matt really dug in and added some heavy garage rock vibes and we all just tried to do justice to Brit’s great song. This one is great turned up.
Both of these tracks are from our upcoming album Painted Shield 2, available 5.27.
Just got notification from Newbury Comics that the vinyl is delayed again to June 24th.
