Retrograde?

I can't get this song out of my head. With these strange times we find ourselves living in,this song could be the anthem.  By far my favorite on the album. What's your thoughts on this gem?

My friend loves it, I need to give it a listen. I love Seven O’Clock and River Cross.

I think it’s  the song I’m most excited to hear live. Guitars will be more present in the ‘chorus’, I’d guess. Then the great close.

It’s my favorite on side 3 of the vinyl.  It’s been stuck in my head as well.
I wish I was a sacrifice, but somehow still lived on.

Love this song. In my head when he sings “it could be thunder or a crowd” I picture it live with everyone screaming after that line. Oh yes, it was a crowd.

It’s my #1 song on this album. When Ed’s voice goes up and adds the ‘round after ’feel the retrograde spin us around’ is amazing. When we finally see this live the crowd is going to go nuts at the end when he sings ‘hear the sound, in the distance now, could be thunder or a crowd’. Can’t wait!

Loved it from the get go. While every song on this album is kick ass, this was the one I immediately fell in love with on the first listen.

If we NEVER get to congregate again...it's the end of society.  I work hard all year to be able to go to a handful of shows and sporting events each year.  I'd quit my 8-5 job if this turns into a long term thing.  I'll fish for my food and live a much simpler life.

Great song. But why the love for this song and the hate for Sirens?

It took me also a little while to get into this song, but since the Weekend I am fully overwhelmed by it. I think it is a wonderful song, the lyrics touch me and the outro is just stunning (like in the other post so perfectly desribed!). It has a positive underlaying tone in the melody and somehow it has become my hymn for those days... <3
And: it surprised me that Ed created a song about the Retrogate that will occure in summer (a friend of mine is into astrology and told me about it)...so I always had been careless about astrology but with the song spinning in my head over and over, I started to wonder...
Eitherway, thank you PEARL JAM for the super album Gigaton and Retrogate for today :)
there is no way to peace, peace is the way!
...the world is come undone, I like to change it everyday but change don't come at once, it's a wave, building before it breaks.

Least favorite.  Sounds like a LB song.  I mean, it's still Pearl Jam so I kinda like it (cause I'm apparently a fanboy and like everything just about).  But it feels like soft rock/poppy....some good there, but easily my least favorite on the album.

but that last section....awesome....tolerate the first 2/3 to enjoy the masterful last 1/3rd

and I'm not saying the first 2/3 is awful....just not my typical favorite type of PJ tune.  Great song though.  Miles above Sirens in my opinion.
