Pearl Jam's Next Show Will Be...

No shows since Fenway in September of 2018. With the spring tour postponed and the summer tour in jeopardy, where will they finally take the stage again?

In September, Maybe.  Would not be surprised if 2021 at this point, possibly Australia and New Zealand in January

It is the next shoe to drop. They won't cancel until they absolutely have to, but it doesn't look good.

I am voting for Europe out of sheer hope that this can somehow go on. Still 100 days away which seems like a long time but a lot has to happen in that time for this to still go down. By mid May I bet we know either way. One thing they can do which would be tough to pull off is put the front half of this tour at the end giving them another 20 days or so.

Point is though if the tour is postponed we as a world are in a lot of hurt if in 100 days we still can not have mass gatherings.

What a shitty rumour to start. They are screaming for traffic I would guess on their fan run twitter page. Likely to happen yes but there is no way that they decided yesterday to do so as their FAQ suggests.

Just follow the data and real information.  That being said, things are not likely to be back to anything resembling normal for a bit of time, Europe seems highly unlikely.
His eminence has yet to show.

A TV station or was it radio station there said those shows would get cancelled / postponed. We will see.

Likely to happen sadly but why would the venue  rebook bands that were postponed in the spring to June dates at the ZiggoDome and then 2 days later bands cancel for July. Lots of speculation going on right now and I think we are 60 days out before the band looks at this and makes a concrete decision. Again not looking good but I trust their FAQ and think they will give Europe the best shot at happening as they can while allowing fans the room to cancel if possible too.

I think it should be a date based question. It’s important to think of what Dr Fauci has been saying the past couple weeks, about flattening the curve and avoiding a spike.

He is not talking about reducing cases per se, just flattening the curve over time so our medical resources can handle and treat symptoms.

So if under emergency circumstances let’s say the US system can handle 200,000 patients and that’s being generous. And 80% are asymptomatic, the man standing next to Mr No Big Deal Trump is talking over a million cases under an optimistic scenario. How long it takes us to get to peak caseload  approximates how long it takes us to get back?

Unless the humid weather of late April and May brings some magic to us (there are many fewer cases in the Southern Hemisphere now but there still are cases) we can look at that curve on the downward side and assume we need less than x number of  new cases per week to feel that the pandemic has passed? What is “x”? China went on lockdown about two months ago and recently were still reporting 100 cases a day.

Can our slower and much more libertarian approach get us to that level of decrease in 2 months? That puts us in mid May, with still seeing some new cases and no known cure and not knowing if we start socially gathering again starts a new increase in cases. We aren’t even wide scale testing yet.

Doesn't seem like BCs focus is on wide scale testing. Yesterday, the focus of the tests were for health workers and the elderly.

Others are asked to stay home if we get the symptoms and most will get well.

As for Europe, I am looking at China's timeline to see how quickly business resume. Trump hinted a couple days back that travel their may be resumed soon.

Dr Fauci and DeBlasio are talking about lockdown for the first time. I’d  be cautious looking at China for optimism. First, they implemented lockdown quicker and much more absolute. Their outbreak was in a remote section of China and they did not have a widespread situation like what exists in the states, where we enjoy our libertarianism and interactive lifestyle. The states are more connected to each other  than a central province of China to its other provinces . Second I’m not sure how much I’d trust information coming out of an authoritarian state like China.

best I can tell, 700 new cases since late afternoon yesterday. From a rate of 500 per week to that in a couple days.

Fauci was pretty annoyed when hearing about American behavior last night at restaurants. That’s when he mentioned lockdown of restaurants and bars. Then food stores. Then everywhere. Still not as forceful as what China did.
