I was hoping PJ would've done a live set for the Lolla. That being said, it's gotta hard to get the band and the sound all in a place to do multiple songs. It'll just making the band so much better when we get there.

I've decided to taper back my news in take and just listen to Dylan. The dude's music in the last 20 or so years is so outside of the modern day vernacular that it's refreshing (despite being highly relatable). It's historical and prescient; moody and brilliant. It's distracting in the a philosophical and moral connotation.

I love all the pictures of essential workers in their PJ gear. It's a beautiful tribe.

I'm wondering if the spring 2020 shows will be pushed to fall 2021 or spring 2022? We'll all be out there soon enough. Time means nothing.

I get how music is linked with politics. But I become wary when music is used at political rallies or fundraisers. I have zero problem with artists representing their beliefs (it's their belief system) and I guess if they give their blessing to use music. But I do find it odd when people use music to get hyped up for politics. It's a difficult and odd dichotomy for me.

I don't think I've read so much in a year since before my daughter's birth (she's 6). Is it Covid? Have my two children allowed me enough down time to read? Not sure but I'm enjoying literature again. It's so nice.

Pretty excited that tomorrow is Vault Day....why don't we have this down as a PJ celebratory day?

I saw the posters of the canceled tour and I loved the apocalyptic messages that fit alongside Gigaton. Sadly, of the many topics we've ignored in 2020 the environment has to be a top one. It's been a year of doom all around/ Maybe we'll wake up one day.

So college football is falling into the void. Not a big deal in the grand scheme but that search for normal becomes ever elusive for the near future.

First full day of work zooooooms. Man it's boring. No clue how kids will handle this all day for school. I'm an adult andI hate it.

I was listening to Wrigley 16, Night 1 and I was struck by the crowd noise. I don't know if I'm just out of the game from not hearing a crowd for over a full year (and if you include tv we're talking 6 months) but it was interesting and I missed it. That joy. And even though I was there, I forgot about the "virtual wave" but now I can remember with perfect clarity.

Listening to those Wrigley shows, I'm struck at how much Let's Play Two doesn't quite capture those shows. It tries but I've always found there's a flow problem - the album doesn't work like Live on Two or Ten Legs where it works like a continuous concert. Still love that I have the album and art from those shows but the Wrigley shows (especially 18 night 2 - even thought it was my least favorite of the five in the moment) are my go to boots.

I'm constantly interested in the music that catches my ear as I get older; I dabbled in bands like Metallica and R.E.M. but once I went through their entire catalogues they're go to bands. I've never been into metal but there is something soothing about Metallica (and R.E.M.) and I've also gotten to appreciate The Grateful Dead...I always assumed these were bands people found in their youth not middle age but the music all of them create are fascinating. Such musicianship.

Lovecraft Country debuted on HBO last night and it was fascinating. I was drawn to it because the show was filmed in my backyard (suburb area wise) and I don't know if I've ever seen anything like it.

That Baltimore poster is pretty sharp. I like the old school element of promoting the entire album. It's almost a full tour poster and not just a one stop city.

I'm accumulating a nice record collection but finding time to listen is difficult. I love the collecting aspect and I love the physical copy (man I missed that). I used to spend so much time in music stores and book stores and that just doesn't happen. When I got Gigaton I remembered how much I loved to sift through the pictures and lyrics. I spent so much time doing that as a kid, listening along. Time, time, time...

Gotta say, unpopular opinion but the 16 tour is my favorite. I love the variety, the duration and the authenticity of the shows (band and crowd are loving it). I don't get that same vibe from 18. 16 was an extension of the kitchen sink tour of 13.

I just saw the announcement that the deluxe version of Tom Petty's Wildflowers is finally making it's way to the light of day. Petty is an artists I've always loved and his untimely death was terrible but knowing there is music left to hear is nice. It's nowhere near a comfort of what we're missing (and I can't imagine what his family is missing) there's something about hearing his voice on the recording released today.

In a 5 year period or so Tom Petty, David Bowie, Prince, Aretha Franklin, and Chris Cornell....I listen to Petty a lot and it's weird to think of a musician like losing a family member.

I've always paid attention to wild fires, hurricanes, derechos but this year they have new meaning. The pandemic amplifies all of these occurrences to a terrifying degree. I'm reminded via virtual instruction just how weird 2020 is wrapping up.

When you have kids you say goodbye to sleep forever. I'm assuming when they get older and seep they keep you up just by virtue of the terror that comes along with growing up.

It's interesting as kids go back to school (virtually) that we see schools did little to nothing new to protect the people in their buildings. In fact, I'm seeing throughout the country jobs are being slashed. I understand state and county taxes go to education but I was fascinated to see that last year we spent 79 billion on education and 729 on military spending (with only 9 billion being mandated)....think about that and think about the lack of care taken when looking at opening schools this fall.

I thought we'd be mostly back to normal in July. After I was crushed by the realization that wasn't feasible, I figured maybe March but now....now I'm wondering if shows in 2021 will even happen. It seems the country has decided that corona virus isn't a thing anymore. What happens to all the industries that require crowds in order to thrive, just merely survive (barely if that)?

The irony of Chadwick Boseman passing away on Jackie Robinson Day is tough to stomach.

I took a hike with my wife yesterday, 18 miles. It was probably the most gorgeous day of the summer, 75 with a breeze and sun. Lake Geneva Wisconsin isn't far and the trail is fascinating; nature and wealth in the oddest ways imaginable. What I was most struck by was how calm everyone we met was and how easily the world seemed to pass away...I wonder if we took more time to spend outside with our thoughts or out loved ones if we might be in a better place in the world. We went to eat afterwards (a Covid first for me) and the crowds were a little removed from our table but they were deafening. It was business as usual but it didn't feel like it, not to me. It was jarring and I just wished everyone took some time for that kind of walk in the woods.

Are Zoom meetings the worst? I'm pretty sure I can't get used to them and not hate them.

I was always hoping this show would happen in 2021 but my pessimism is getting the best of me. And in all honesty, with the world burning what does it all matter?
