I am mentally exhausted from this damn contest. Trying to listen in between meetings at work has me stressed the hell out. And yet I keep coming back for more.
Hang in there. Four more chances in this contest, so we’re in the home stretch. Listen when you can and F5 this thread when you can’t. Good luck!
Thank for the encouragement. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel....even if I winning is not in the cards.
If I do win, I might be like “nah, i’m good. You can keep those tickets since this contest has managed to make me hate my favorite band.” LOL. I don’t think I have listened to any band 5 hours a day for 3 weeks in my life....and music is my passion.

Haha yep... and my first degree was in music industry
but seriously I effing love this band and can’t quit and neither can you! We are all in!

I’m being very sincere when I say, I’m sorry to hear that. These things are supposed to be fun.
Hopefully the pain pays off for you in the next 2 days. Good luck!
I am kind of half-kidding...kind of. Getting a busy signal day after day is driving me nuts. I would rather go back to the days of sleeping on a sidewalk to get a wristband over this charade. 🤣 My husband might divorce me if this goes on much longer. He likes PJ, but thinks I am 😜. That is why, pending cancellation from Coronavirus, I will be leaving him home when I go to Stockholm/Copenhagen shows. LOL.

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again: when I start to despair over my inability to get tickets for this show, I try to think about how enjoyable it will be to settle down in my home three weeks from tomorrow night, open a bottle of wine and listen to a live stream of the concert.

Yes, that does sound enjoyable but I still want to go through the hassle of driving into the city, trying to find parking, waiting in the queue in the hopes that my name is actually on the list and that I really do have a ticket, then finally walking in and feeling those butterflies knowing the audience is about to witness something special.
Ive been to the Apollo just once, it was incredible to be in a theatre with such history. I hope we all get in. If we don’t, I’ll open a bottle of wine at home and listen to pjradio. Sadly, based on the testing with a stopwatch I’ve done these past few weeks, the broadcast will be on a 2 1/2 minute delay 😀
I think it seems like, from the way rob was talking today, that there will be opportunities beyond the song of the week which ends Friday. Let’s hope!!!
can you feel this world with your heart and not your brain?
It’s Showtime at The Apollo! Who else used to watch that??? I’m going to be there if I can! Lord knows I am trying, I realized that my phone is almost a full 3 minutes behind my car... That’s crazy,,, it’s also annoying. All that time wasted.... Ugh! ONWARD, FAITHFUL!!!!!
Ahh I hope by summer. I have 5 PTO days left this year and I am eager to plan them around the tour

Monday should be interesting as Sea Hear Now lineup is announced. Fingers crossed that PJ is headlining the Sunday as has been rumored.
Keeping my eye on sea hear now: also hoping for other Philly dates but willing to go to anywhere from PA, NY, NJ, MA, CT, MD, VA etc... have to coordinate around work, classes and Clinicals.
Speaking of Philly if anyone wants to see Green Day at citizens I have a pair I need to sell. Can transfer on TM. Or willing to discuss a trade. Just wanted to put that out there.

No doubt - I’m going to keep dialing like a madman and pushing whatever other buttons I can to make it happen. But when I get frustrated about how tough it is, I just try to cheer myself up by thinking about listening at home.
But I’m also going to Baltimore and MSG so it’s relatively easy for me to take that perspective. Though like @SVRDhand13 I live about 25 minutes door to door from the Apollo so knowing that the show is happening so close to my couch will be #gutting.
With 4 tries left the odds aren’t looking good for me but i’m going to keep trying!
If that doesn’t work out im hoping for some Fall shows. It’s been 17yrs since i’ve seen them. Stayed in the club cuz i love the band (and i love vinyl). Trying to end that drought this year. My wife and I met because of PJ and she’s never seen them. Four tries left to make The Apollo a killer first show for her! Good luck everyone! Hope we all get “on hold” music!
quick question, when you all dont connect right away, do you hang up and try again or do you wait to get the 'all circuits are busy' message?
Specifically to those of you who have dialed, hung up, dialed again and won or had them pick up. I'm trying to figure out if hanging on waiting to hear that all circuits are busy message is worth the time.
I switched from “wait for the circuit lady” to my current 10-second rule late in the first week. I’ve gotten numbers 3 times and music 3 times, all on the 10-second strategy. But I also hung up right when the music was coming on one time. And I always wonder whether I hung up on my win.
YMMV, I guess.
Then my dialing experience throws a total wrench into the mix... Using Google Fi (Sprint/TMobile) - i let it sit in silence attempting to connect while I use 1 AT&T and 2 Verizon phones to call...
The Verizon phones give me the most chances of redial, typically giving a circuit busy message within 10-20 seconds... And eerie enough, even when dialing at very different timings apart - the two VZ phones synchronize their "circuits busy" message often. Some phone company voodoo i say...
Anyhow, the AT&T phone tends to often fail to connect at all... But here is the kicker... My Google Fi phone, sitting there silent until connecting - is the only one out of any of my phone's that I've gotten a pickup and number. When I got 16 yesterday, it sat in silence for 3 MINUTES before it connected. when I got 19 today during Faithful Forum, it sat almost 4 minutes, as I dialed on all other phones in vain, before i heard music and got oh so close.
So really, in every sense of the acronym and based on all of the helpful info shared by our fellow Apollo thread posters... YMM fukin V
Good morning! Another day, another chance to win. Here's a briefing for today (Thursday). Two days to go!
Song of the week: Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town Call in window: 8 am - 1 pm EST (5 am - 10 am PST) Chances to win: 2 Number: 855-973-2755
Faithfull Forum Call in window: Done (for now)
Listening Tips:
Online and satellite listeners have both won. They seem to start taking callers at online start time.
Online starts to play 2-2.5 minutes after satellite.
Satellite listeners have graciously posted here when the song starts. F5 is your friend.
A short promo for the contest typically plays before the song of the week is aired. That promo is typically shorter and includes audio of previous winners.
PJ Radio confirmed two plays for rest of contest with a like on Twitter.
There is typically at least 1 hour between each play, but has been longer.
Dialing Tips:
When dialing, if you hear "all circuits are busy", "your call can not be completed", or get a standard busy signal, hang up and call again. Otherwise, wait!
Fans that have gotten through have reported dead air or hearing background music before a human picks up.
They don't announce the winner on air (except during the FF), but many have been trying for 10-15 minutes before giving up.
Ice cream can be used to keep children occupied while dialing (@MakeUSmile).
Faithfull Forum:
Rob has given them away early in the show and late in the show. He typically gives notice at the beginning.
Week 1 started at 6 pm EST. Week 2, 3 and 4 started at 5 pm EST. updated
Rob suggested there will be more ways to win soon. Stay tuned! new

That's easily one of the cheapest listings there has been posted so far.
Someone should snatch that up.
Expensive, but probably the best you're gonna do.
