Anyway, it wouldn't be the first time that the "official" lyrics have been wrong, so it probably is "fire". Boys want to grow their dicks, fix things, and fire things. Which, yeah, guilty.

I thought this too.  "file things" like just tuck them away, compartmentalize, out of sight out of mind and move on rather than have to "dance" your way through a problem.

Oh no, man hating/stereotyping I thought this was proven not effective.  I have a young son and this drives me crazy. Well I don’t have to like all Ed’s lyrics. 

Maybe I’m wrong here. Maybe he talking about everyone flaking out. Not men only.
