    another ticket drop today?
  • I'm in with a pair of reserved. Trying to coordinate where to stay.  Drive from Maine to CT and take train into Penn St and stay in airbnb near the venue? Or just drive all the way and try to find an airbnb in Brooklyn with parking?  I wanna try and lock something down before the general public sale as I assume prices will go up even more.
Drive to White Plains and take Metro North down.  Just check schedules for the late train.  Hard curfew at MSG so you know 11 you’re done the latest.   Then you can enjoy a couple bars walking from MSG to Grand Central on way to catch your train (disclosure - have not checked metro north train schedules lately, so timing may or may not work).    Unless you’re staying in Manhattan why fight with city traffic to get to Brooklyn?
live in White Plains and i agree with this. late train is usually around 1am, i've taken it plenty of times and will take it on March 30th

I’ve got 2 GA for MSG. My son would like to go and i’d love to take him. Just wondering if GA will be enjoyable for 11 year old. Thoughts?

Definitely. Just pick a spot towards the back. It could be a little tight up front. Or trade for reserved.

Just a side note - unless someone has prior experience, I don't think that MSG will have the ability to allow folks the day before to come in and purchase merchandise.  The NCAA is having their Elite 8 games the night before - that would be a huge security mess.  Highly doubtful.

Meaning... day of purchase of merchandise.
Pretty sure the merch for the stadium shows were the exception to the rule. Back to arenas. Back to regular sales for merch.

Has anyone pitched a meet up spot yet?

Stout 1 block over is usually a pretty solid spot to pre-game.

Probably where I'll wind up setting up shop anyways.

Thanks for the reply. I’m mostly concerned about him being able to see anything aside from the middle of everyone’s back. I think I’m taking him regardless, he can’t wait. We’ll figure it out.

Just find a spot where the people around you understand that you are with an 11 year old kid.

Once you find the right group of GA buddies it will become like a small village where everyone will collectively look after him and make sure he's OK.

That spot is usually like 75% of the way back.

    He'll be fine though.

Maybe a year or so ago I met a friend in a small craft beer bar somewhere on the west side there, and they had an MSG setlist from 2008 framed behind the bar. I honestly forget what it's called or where exactly it was, but I will figure it out.

    Like it was for years?

This multi day merch fest boggles me. Go to concert, get merch, sit down. The whole poster scarcity is what started all of this frenzy, which I suppose the artists want.
I completely agree with you! :bee:

But MSG does have the ability for you to enter the lobby without a ticket - just need to clear the metal detector -  and access two merch booths right at the main entrance on the day of the show.  You're then free to leave and drop your poster back at the hotel.

  • Any locals or those in the know have advice on hotels that are close enough to safely walk back to after the show?  Looking around, some of the prices aren't that bad (especially if you're splitting it with another couple). Of course, driving in you have to add in $$ for parking and all that.
  • Ready for my first Pearl Jam show at MSG.  I've seen 43 Phish shows there.  I guess I should catch a basketball game or something too, but how could that compare to PJ or Phish?

There are literally no unsafe places in Manhattan.

Anything on the entire island will be safe.

If you want to save money, and don't mind what will probably be like a 35-45 minute train ride back after the show I highly recommend one of the hotels in Jersey City by the Newport PATH.

For Temple of the Dog at MSG in 2016, I was able to get into the lobby early, load up on merch and then left MSG to hit the FedEx the next block over...stuffed a poster tube with the 2016 poster and a few shirts and overnighted it to myself. Had all my stuff by 9am the following day and did not have to worry about getting things damaged or missing out on the event night poster.

    This guy New Yorks.

Completely agree. Don’t stay near MSG or in Times Square. There are so many nicer areas just a train ride or cab away.

Of course. But I do not think they'll be doing PJ merch on a day where there is a NCAA event going on. Just doesnt make sense to me personally, and there wouldn't be any reason for it anyway since I do not think there will be multiple merch days for any other show on the tour.

I remember 2010 when they put up Donkey Kong, the foyer went nuts. Worked with the group I was with and got one for myself and one for a kid from Boston. He never would have made it. Good Luck and C U there.

Found a good pic of the floor seating at MSG - with section labels and some notes. Looks like GA is sections A B C, which appears to be a large area...but maybe they're able to adjust the line between GA and floor seats. Can't wait. I've seen them a few times at MSG, and it's just amazing.

So, these tickets are transferable for MSG Is this as simple as transferring tickets to the other party when they become available? For example, if someone wants to swap 2 GA for 2 Reserved, is is as simple as doing the ticket transfer on TM ahead of time? The parties wouldn't have to go in together or anything like that?
