Although it would be nice if they played Alive a little earlier.
It felt strange and surreal and exhilarating hearing it as the third song played at the Ten Show in Philly in 16.
Opener in Dallas 03’. Just as I was hoping for Release or expecting a typical opener...boom. It was one of those moments at a show that sticks with you. I usually keep track of the setlists throughout the tours and I can't remember seeing them open with Alive since.
And Porch. They don't have to go completely off the setlist, just go somewhere else in it. Porch & RVM ending sets 1 & 2 every show has gotten really old. And I'm sick of that choppy Porch intro they've done for a while, too.
The band has decided that they're going to retire Baba and RITFW. Name one or two covers that can replace them as show-enders (songs that they don't already do - you can't pick All Along The Watchtower, Comfortably Numb, etc.).
I don't have any off the top of my head but will think about it.
The time has come for Betterman to take a rest for awhile. Sorry for those who love this song and the sing a long but, it has been on rinse and repeat for a long while now.
Always been my least fav PJ song
They're oldest cover.

Honestly, I would suggest for each show ditch all but a few, maybe keep and alternate three or four at the most, and play new stuff. Move on or become a tribute band for your old self like so many other bands have done.
"Don't give in to the lies. Don't give in to the fear. Hold on to the truth. And to hope."
Jeremy was never one of my favorites until Wrigley 1 2016 which gave me a new appreciation for it. It seems like Ed feels the same way because it's been pretty standard ever since.
DTE and GTF depend on the show and where they fall in the setlist - I can remember times when each of those came up in fun spots.
Porch could probably use a little rest. Give me a Corduroy every time.
I'd add Unthought Known and Lightning Bolt to this list - both have become standards since they came out. I like both songs fine but don't need to hear them every show.
Def agree about Lightening Bolt. If they have to make a song off that album a standard I would much prefer MYM.
