So I was curious about scoring in oh, the last 40 years. in the 80's there were 5 games where someone scored 60 or more. 90's 4. 2000's 9. 2010's 13. In the 2020's alone in 5 years there are 14 already, 14.
But hey, the skill level is elevating, there is no defense anymore. I see 100 points is serious trouble if someone truly gets hot.
Stop trying to make fetch happen. Embiid is fucking awesome.
One of the hottest or, perhaps, the hottest actress ever.
Go ahead and dispute that, tempo!
No idea who that is.
If I had known then what I know now...

Also, I said "any of us have ever seen." I don't know how old you are but I'd be willing to bet you didn't see almost half that list. lol
True Remove Petite, West, Wilt Gervin and Robertson though theres enough tape of games you can watch to see how good they were.
The lack of defense in the league now doesn't do him any favors either.
PPG, yayyyy. Last year we had a few crack 30 didn't we? And we discussed how that hasn't happened in forever too.
Embiid is good, not the best I've ever seen. In a few years from now when he declines will you remember that he only played 8 years at this point and the others I mentioned played more?
I saw 13 of those players>LOL
And off the top of my head, how about Rick Barry and Bernard King?

Barry can be argued but Kings career was altered. A healthy King would have been something. Before his injury dude was a beast.

"Good." LOL. Sorry man. Jo is scoring at an historic pace for his career. That's a tad better than "good." And if you don't consider him best you've seen, he is certainly one of them...which was my original point.
How many of those guys put up 70 before? How many of those guys you mentioned averaged more points per game? -- the answer is only Wilt and MJ. How many of those guys scored more points per minute per 36, which is probably the best indicator of how great a scorer you are? The answer is none. Nobody in the history of the NBA has averaged more points per minute than Embiid. You should watch more Sixers games.
The craziest thing about last night? For those who watch him night in, night out? He looks like he can score 50+ every time he touches the court. I have never seen anything like it. The game is so easy for him right now. Nobody can guard him. Truly amazing stuff.
400 games played only... If you think he will be like this in 5 years godbless.
Again, he's good, really good just not one of the best I've ever seen.
Ah, he's actually great. That's indisputable at this point. And yes he is, whether you admit it or not. He can't help it that the first few years of his career were cut short by injuries.
But let's jut go by individual seasons then: Joel Embiid is scoring at a greater clip this season than anyone in any other season in the history of the NBA other than Wilt Chamberlain and Michael Jordan.
EDIT--Harden's insane 18/19 season with the Rockets is basically tied with Jo this year....except Jo is doing it playing 3 less minutes per game. lol
36 points per game in 34 minutes per game is fucking nutso.
MJ scored 37 one year...but in 40 minutes per game.
So, yeah, Jo is the greatest, most efficient, scorer you've ever seen.
Game is not what it once was so let's not try to compare it to any other era.
I am just not excited about todays scoring, sorry. No D. Everyones game has elevated, I will say that.
Now, comparing him to Jordan? Stop it, stopppppp.
Well, if everyone has elevated ther game, then scoring should go up?
As you know basketball is a sport where better offense will beat good D.

Never saw mean girls had to look up her other movies/shows and shes in a ton of things, nothing that sticks out. Did NOT know she was the young one in Party of Five. I was a Love-Hewitt fan.
That's crazy. Their defense does suck, but still sitting at No 2 in the east and you can your coach?
Bringing in Doc Rivers is something both a Celtics fan and Sixers fan can get behind. Amirite?!
Absolutely
Sure, he will get them to the top then fall back down it...
What's the top?
Conference Finals, it's his MO.
Gosh, that would've been nice here. lol.
He hasn't made it out of the second round since he was with the Celtics. He sucks.

U and I agree.
Dude has had some seriously talented teams too.
His strength lies strictly in managing the locker room/player personalities. He is lousy with X's and O's and in game decisions/management. He won a title here in 2008 because that team had a very motivated Kevin Garnett and he had Thibs as an assistant running the defense. His failures with a stacked Clippers team are glaring. Don't know how he'll do with Giannis (who is becoming more Americanized and stat chasing with every season) and Dame. But my suspicion is it won't end well. That team needs a guy who can get them to play together and play both ends.

Gianinis IS about x's and O's too so yeah, that can be a problem.
I'll say this, Doc has gotten his players to play for him just not in the playoffs, lol.
He's garbage. And the Sixers wasted three years of Jo's prime with this guy.
Also, for such a locker room guy, there's been a lot of talk this year from players who seem openly happy to have a coach who actually has them practice.
