Pearl Jam fan elitism

Personally, I could care less if you wear a hand drawn stickman shirt, say,”I was with my Jamily for an Uncle Neil show”,have 37 Stickman tattoos on your face that you just got yesterday or an epic Boom tattoo on your ass cheek.
There are all levels of fandom, and as long as someone is still representing Pearl Jam in 2019 and loves the music and the community, I say, “you my Pearl Jam friend, are awesome!”
To think your a bigger and “better” fan because you know how long RVM was played in Salt Lake City 1995 is sad and creates a Trump like division in what is supposed to be a celebration of the band and the music.
If the fact I have 5 Pearl Jam tattoos (and yes, one is a stickman) makes me any less cool of a Pearl Jam fan, so be it.

Sorry, just had to rant because I’m tired of reading about what is ok and not ok to like in Pearl Jam country.
Peace,Love and Pearl Jam.

I was at those SLC shows with Boom.  He had borrowed a sharpie from me back in the hotel room to make his sign, “Pick Me for Keys!”

Aren’t you being a sort of elitist when you establish your own criteria of what makes a real fan to you?
    1996: Randall's Island 2  1998: East Rutherford | MSG 1 & 2  2000: Cincinnati | Columbus | Jones Beach 1, 2, & 3 | Boston 1 | Camden 1 & 2 2003: Philadelphia | Uniondale | MSG 1 & 2 | Holmdel  2005: Atlantic City 1  2006: Camden 1 | East Rutherford 1 & 2 2008: Camden 1 & 2 | MSG 1 & 2 | Newark (EV)  2009: Philadelphia 1, 2 & 4  2010: Newark | MSG 1 & 2  2011: Toronto 1  2013: Wrigley Field | Brooklyn 2 | Philadelphia 1 & 2 | Baltimore  2015: Central Park  2016: Philadelphia 1 & 2 | MSG 1 & 2 | Fenway Park 2 | MSG (TOTD)  2017: Brooklyn (RnR HOF)  2020: MSG | Asbury Park  2021: Asbury Park  2022: MSG | Camden | Nashville  2024: MSG 1 & 2 (#50) | Philadelphia 1 & 2 | Baltimore

  • If you want to hear new music, still listen to the old stuff and go see them live when you are able to, then you’re a pretty cool fan to me.

Does using the term "jamily" make you more or less of a fan?
Or using the phrase "the boys" when referring to the band?

I Promise my "Order History" is bigger than yours.  Thus I'm a much bigger fan than you.  Thus I'm an 'Elite' fan and you are just a 'Regular' fan.  We're both fanatics, but don't think you are Elite, just be happy with Regular.

I think this is carryover from the (beautiful) Becky Lynch thread and some of Spiritual Chaos' unwarranted criticisms.

Or tongue-in-cheek sarcastic response to a snarky comment dressed as a question.
