ahah... I clicked on the myspace link, then unplugged my headphones and this completely confuse sounds came out. After a minute I realized I was listening to Harrybu AND Widespread Panic at the same time.

But the best part is that since it was jazz it kind of made sense to me :D

Anyway, I will listen now. It's my last hope to make my husband like something PJ related :o

EDIT: very nice! Harrybu is also my husband's last hope to make me like something jazz related :)
... and the will to show I will always be better than before.

Saw both sets at Bonnaroo and have seen them twice in Seattle. Great stuff if you're into Jazzy sounds. The two musicians Matt plays with are very gifted...definitely $14 well spent!

Sounds like PJ needs a lesson or two on how to record Matt's drums properly.

    Agree 100%.
I think they need to give Matt more freedom as at times it seems like they really hold him back.

    To any PJ'er or admin:

How many tracks are on the self-titled debut? I like how it's free s/h, but I don't wanna spend $14 for 7 tracks or smthg. Is it more than 10 tracks?

Preaching to the choir, bro. My little brother is an incredible drummer who was trained by a crusty old professional jazz musician from an early age. He also plays in my band and has educated me on the subject throughout the years. This stuff totally reminds me of my brother. Matt C. can do anyting he wants to on a drum kit. He's the only musical prodigy in PJ. Not that the other guys aren't good...

Harrybu McCage is a jazz trio featuring drummer Matt Cameron (Pearl Jam, Soundgarden), keyboardist Ryan Burns and bassist Geoff Harper (Herbie Hancock, Bill Frisell). These three artists bring their extensive background in music together to form an exciting and eccentric new "jazz" sound.

Matt Cameron has been honing his drumming skills in successful rock groups for decades and continues to collect increasing recognition for his personal projects. Keyboardist Ryan Burns has been a legend in the Seattle music scene for many years sharing his knowledge with young musicians by teaching at two northwest universities. Rounding out the threesome with his renowned bass abilities, Geoff Harper has recorded with countless local and national artists and performs throughout the region.

    Track Listing:
    1. I Mean You (C. Hawkins, T. Monk)
    2. A Little Max (D. Ellington)
    3. Sneakin’ Around (R. Bryant)
    4. Evidence (T. Monk)
    5. Monk’s Mood (T. Monk)
    6. Jetskiing on Priest Lake (Ryan Burns)
    7. Ask Me Now (T. Monk)
    8. Off Minor (T. Monk)
    9. Rhodes Jam (M. Cameron)
    10. Alice in My Fantasies (G. Clinton, Jr.)

We missed the first one...we were at someone else I think, I can't remember. But trust me, $5 was nothing for some AC and a VERY small crowd. Was the sonic Stage packed?

Not packed at all. I could probably walk right up to the stage if I wanted, but stood off to the side in some shade.

I really wanted to check out the NO tent, but there was so much going on all weekend I didn't make it. I almost made it there just for the food : )

it's a very strong thing to say that one musician is a prodigy over another, (esp. in pearl jam's case), a fault I see in alot of musicians these days is that they are stuck on how good someone's chop's are. and dont stop to think of the effort in writing for others, having a unique sound, how to play a chord beautifully and at the same time make it your own. some things to think about.... matt cameron is no prodigy compared to Eddie's songwriting, or Jeff's solidity, or stone's fine guitar playing, or mike's energy and speed on the guitar. just some examples ofcourse... .anyone else?

The more I listen to these two songs the more I love them!!!

Again, as probably my favorite genre of music that being jazz I have to say these guys are damn tight!!
My family (mostly my grandpa) got me into jazz as a toddler, played piano, sax, and later guitar and a bit of drums as I grew up...this is surprisingly really good!

    Wow!

Hats off to Matt. I always knew he was a classically trained jazz percussionist, but never really had the chance to hear him really "work". Good stuff!!

This should end the dispute of "who is PJ's best drummer" Matt plays jazz, he also plays guitar and is a singer in the band wellwater conspiracy. He is not only their best drummer, but the most talented member of PJ. Matt Cameron is incredible.
