Knowing what you know about Sweden's pathetic response in WW2 (and you probably already knew)...would you support US troops helping them militarily if the need comes up?  As a Canadian whose country has fought side by side our allies in Europe through 2 world wars...I would hope we respectfully bow out of any future conflicts in Europe other than the NATO family.

Government heavily subsidizing industry for the "collective good" for the defeat of Nazi Germany and suspending laws and regulations through EOs and without Congress = socialism, to me. Not worth an argument but the propaganda of the US being this bright shining light on  a hill, which it is, is because of the trampled masses at its base. And WW2 and its aftermath allowed the global economy and "norms" to flourish due to alliances, trade treaties and mutual agreements, nations that trade together and help their respective economies flourish, live in peace. Something Israel has yet to learn. All of which Team Trump Treason is trying to tear down. As for Spirtual chiming in, he's allowed to express his opinion and point out that the US isn't as clean, fair, great, or any other descriptor he uses. Its okay, particularly if you've read Howard Zinn and A People's History of the United States. A lot of ugly shit in there and in our nation's history. That said, I'm always amazed at what and how all sides sacrificed during WW2, for their respective beliefs and what they were caught up in. And thanks to your uncle for his service and for anyone who serves.

It is interesting that Sweden isn't part of NATO.  It made sense during the cold war considering their fear of the Soviet Union.  But I'm not sure I know why they haven't tried to join, particularly considering they are carrying the blood on their hands from their support of the war in Afghanistan.  
As far as your question, considering the cooperative defense positions they've taken, I'd probably support bailing their asses out again.  I understand the opposing position though.

Just as he's allowed to bring up the Stonewall riots, Sand Creek Massacre, violence at the DNC in Chicago circa 1968, women protesting and being met with violence to earn the right to vote in 1920 or the lynchings that occured during the 30s, 40, 50s and 60s because blacks dared to vote and not be forced to the back, separate but equal. Rainbows and unicorns didn't magically appear in 1776. And LGBTQ folks are still "dissenting" and being met with government opposition. Would you say thats allowed? In 1776, it was mainly white, priveleged males who enjoyed the "dissent."

Yes it was white males, and no one said they achieved perfection.  But considering the purges of the Huguenots, the Inquisition, the pogroms throughout eastern Europe, Holomodor, and countless other atrocities, I think we did okay.  Certainly not perfect.
