Listening to led zeppelin ii for the first time....god damn I am pissed that I missed out on such an amazing band for the first 41 years of my life.  So glad I found this thread.
Brian I am sure you saw them live, are they a solid band live like pearl jam?

Song Remains The Same is awesome....people who saw them live earlier said it didn't hold a candle to how they played the first handful of years but it is live LZ.

I can’t stand Black Dog. I’d rank it 3rd worst on the album. It’s the type of song that’s the quintessential reason I could never get into Zeppelin. It reminds me of muscle cars and mullets.

    Black Dog
So I've voted against Black Dog every round and McGruff has voted against Levee every round, yet the songs remain the same. If I have to vote against this damn song one more time, I'm going to build my own levee to keep that dog out.
    It's a hopeless situation...

    Too hard!!
Going to California...as a studio track would get the chop...but anybody who has watched Earl's Court knows that the song has wicked Kung Fu.
@mcgruff10 check out Earl's Court...a small acoustic set of absolute gems.

Agreed. My favourite song on LZll.
I dunno about going Physical Graffiti next. The second half might be a bit of a challenge. I'd go with House of the Holy next. Afterwards go with LZI and then either PG or LZIII.

    Stairway To Heaven
I must apologize.  I think I said earlier I would only vote against Stairway only one time.  What was I thinking?!  I know it's a fine song, but up against the other three?  I had to do it.

While in some small way I respect your opinion, you are way off base here mister.

Black Dog is one of the most memorable riffs in rock history.  It is likely Led Zeppelin's most powerful and hardest driving song.

And it's named after a stray black dog.  Brilliant.
