This is my first time entering a drawing with the ten club. What are the chances of snagging tickets? Should I try for tickets during regular on sale also?
sorry for the newbie questions.
Ask away.
The simple strategy would be to put your first priority show with the show that has the lowest % and go from there. If you strike out you will have time to do the public sale.
The strategy comes into play if you decide to pass on the hardest to get show and pretty much guarantee your second pick as a first priority. If the odds are low on a lot of them you can either play it safe and get one or two sets of tickets or you can go for it all.

I’m currently entered in the two Amsterdam shows and considering the Ireland show as a backup. But I can’t make both cities work as I’m coming from the states. Amsterdam is my number one.

Remember you will be charged for all 3 shows if you win them all and no refunds if you can't go so think carefully about Dublin

Exactly. Do not put in if you do not want to win. If it was me I would decide on one or the other and then if I lose I would do the public sale or score one from a fan on this site. Do not put both cities in unless you plan on doing both. They will not refund you.
Agreed but at least this time they got the best seats in the house. I would rather pay more for better and for those that do not they can sit further back. I am guessing yellow and blue for Dublin.
Opinions please...which of the following is the best (or worst) venue if these were the only shows to choose from:
Amsterdam Dusseldorf Dublin
Thanks

I thought it was the highest % one should go for..

It all depends. Are you going to multiple shows? This is how the % works. It just bases on how popular a show is.
If there are 5,000 pairs of tickets lets say 10,000 people put in for it meaning they are also looking for 10,000 pairs.
Let's use easy numbers and say 5000 people put it as their first priority and 5000 put it as their second. The odds would show that they have both have a 50% chance of winning since 5000/10000 times 100 equals 50%. It does not factor in what priority those picks are just how popular the show is compared to seats available.
Even though the odds say 50% the people that put their pick down as a first priority actually have a 100% shot at tickets and the people that put it as their second pick really have 0% since first priority is drawn first and there are no tickets left for the second priority draw.
So if my 1st and 2nd choices get 99% its pretty much a given right ?
Thats right. Lots of people ran into problems last year with too many tickets because of this.
Has Jess convinced you to go to ireland?
Lol not yet. Work is the only thing holding us back right now. May wait until May to make the decision and take the hit financially on the expensive flights.
I am trying to talk her into Santa's Village and PEI instead and she just said why not all 3....
flight to berlin booked, hotel the same,..ticket will be fine..we are good to go..
"...Dimitri...He talks to me...'.."The Ghost of Greece..".

Same thing. Hotel and flights sorted. Surprisingly affordable time of year.

Totally agree... 1 EV show is enough. He doesn't change the setlist up very much, unless there are 2 back to back nights in the same city.

The PJ stats app doesn’t track EV solo but I can share this:
1. Pilgrimage Festival 2017 was one night after Bourbon and Beyond. The shows were within a 3 hour drive of each other. Of 20 songs played at Pilgrimage, 9 had been played the night before and 11 had not.
2. I’ve seen him a total of 4 times (all festivals), most recently just a couple weeks ago at Innings. Of the 23 songs played at Innings, 7 had not been played at any of my previous 3 shows, 7 had been played at all of my previous shows, and the other 9 were either the second or third time out of four.
Everyone can decide for themselves what this means if it means anything at all. Regardless of the number of uniques vs repeats, the shows are always great.
