I don't mind Ed talking during the shows, or if he flubs the lyrics to one or two songs; it is part of seeing a show live (if I want "perfection," I will listen to the studio recordings).
Baba O'Riley is a better show closer than RITFW. Although, if they want/need to clear the venue in a hurry, they should close with Bugs.
They should cut back on merch options. Two poster options and three t-shirt options at shows. Maybe this would reduce the time people spend deciding which one they should get, or trying on every t-shirt in every size to see which is "the one" (it's not the prom, "Brenda", pick one and move on).
Open with Red Mosquito for once.
    Jamily and Jammers...No. Just stop.
    Brenda is an annoying biatch

The term "melt your face" is dumb.

How do you feel about the Dead’s steal your face?     Or as the symbol has been called “a stealie”?

I think Bugs and Foxymop are really good.

I do too. In fact, if I ever randomly ran into Eddie, I'd ask what the source of the Stupid Mop interview is and if I can get a copy. I'm invested now to a point where I need the whole story. It can't just be that the mop streaks, she's sexually frustrated, and so she wants to kill herself. There has to be more to the story.

  • They dont work out the new stuff live enough. I think they play too many songs from the early 90s and wish they would work in some of the new songs and work through them live to attempt to make them staples of their live shows

Setting Forth is in the bottom 10 songs live: luckily only 1 1/2 mins
What?! It fits really nice with Leatherman!

They definitely need to add it to their live repertoire.

Just curious, what do you consider "new"?

    Yes.

Don't get me wrong. I love the old stuff. But, I just wonder what their live shows would be if they would play some of the other tracks from Self Titled-Backspacer-Lightning Bolt and jammed out on some of that stuff. Made some of those songs staples. Love or hate the new albums, it would be nice to hear some of those songs more than one clunky time through.

I’d have to agree with you. Lightning Bolt seems to be one of the few songs they’ve adopted as a new staple.  There are a few more thay could definitely be thrown in the rotation.
  • Love them or hate them. The Foo Fighters play their entire new albums when they tour that album. I wish Pearl Jam would adopt that model. It's not that ridiculous to play 13 new songs in the mix of the 30 they are going to play.

    Agreed.

Unpopular opinion: I hope Backspacer gets the full album treatment, and I hope I'm there.

Same for Neil Young.  He plays the shit out of the new album....then you're lucky to ever hear it again.

For the fans that travel and see 5+ shows a tour, hearing the same 13 songs (or lets say 8 new songs) every show plus the 10 staples would make for a pretty repetitive setlist.  I think how they do it (5-7) new songs per night in the year of a new album is pretty good.
