Give me a break. This is important for a lot of people. Especially the victims of sexual violence.
Absolutely. It is the least one can do to show support. It is also a traumatizing experience that many are going through with her.

I thought Chris Matthews made a good point on Meet the Press this past Sunday morning.  He said that Ford had a right as a good, responsible citizen to come forward about what happened.  He said it is in the public's best interest to know of any such flaws of a man, that if gone undetected and kept silent, could still manifest in the future.  Just because you sweep all those teenage problems under the rug doesn't mean that some darkness of that character is still not there.  I am paraphrasing all this, of course.  This is my take on it.  Kavanaugh seems to have a spotless reputation in adulthood, so I would like to think that all this has not ruined his reputation like Trump says.  I do believe there are women and lawyers who will make up stories that aren't true.  However, I watched a little of Ford's testimony, enough to be convinced she is telling the truth and was a person violated a long time ago who tried her best to keep it quiet. I give the Republicans some credit for even having heard her out.  I guess its not the Holocaust just yet.  We still have that blessed freedom of speech.
Well now we have a woman saying he was sexually aggressive in the 2000s, so... yeah.

So Lindsay Graham seems to be hung up on Ford being unable to remember how she got to/from the party and what the date of the party was.

The 3 guests that Ford named that say they have no recollection would not have any reason to remember the party if they weren't sexually assaulted.

Do these Republican Senators realize how horrible they sound. Graham's 'outrage' is nauseating.

They are trying to make this about the process, rather than the accusation.  A noble attempt I suppose but it's a stretch.

I don't even know now. But some woman has claimed that he pushed her up against a wall in a sexually aggressive manner in a bar when he was drunk, or something like that. I just saw that yesterday I think (edit: oh sorry, it allegedly happened in 1998).

I just don't understand the absolute anger coming from Graham in particular. He could speak about process without being insensitive, dismissive and patronizing. He prosecuted rape cases as a JAG lawyer - he knows better.

It's a hopeless situation and I'm starting to believe that this hopeless situation is what 'they're' trying to achieve.

Sounds like it was a woman he was dating at the time actually - that doesn't sound too anonymous to me, i.e. we don't know her name, likely for their privacy, but some people certainly know who this person is, including Kavanaugh.

That was one of two more that came out yesterday - it was reported to Cory Gardner (R-CO). He had a girlfriend during the Starr hearings period of his life and after a night of drinking, he allegedly pushed his girlfriend's friend against the wall while they were leaving the bar, in a sexually and violent manner. The friend is still traumatized and contacted the then girlfriend but they decided to remain anonymous in their letter to Gardner. When asked about this by the Senate investigative committee Kavanaugh denied everything. When asked if he had a girlfriend at this time, he asked for a description and without one he couldn't confirm her existence.

This is what was alleged and I have paraphrased.

There was also a 1985 allegation reported to Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) about an incident on a boat by both Mark Judge and Kavanaugh.. Kavanaugh denied this also.

They are allegations and I have paraphrased.

Yes,  I don't think Graham helped himself personally with that diatribe.  He is deliberately forgetting this isn't a trial,  either civil or criminal. For me,  the bar is whether she is credible.  She delivered much higher than that. The GOP didn't help their cause thus far today.

No, he pushed the woman he was dating, who was a friend of the person reporting the incident. It was supposedly witnessed by several people.
