GOP agrees to a week long delay for an investigation.
And why wouldn't they? Nothing will come of the investigation because other than conducting interviews, what can the FBI do?
I agree, they were just being stupid and stubborn to not have an investigation. You know who that kind sounds like? Trump.
But, you just never know what they might turn up.
Accusations (of all sorts) happen all the time. How many at this level welcome an FBI investigation? There have been scandals in every presidency since I can remember, they all try to brush it away and hope for no investigation. How is this so different?

Really, let’s be honest, not a single one of you gives a shit about this woman. Your entire mission is to keep another Trump nominee off of the Supreme Court, at least admit that and retain some amount of integrity. You’ll all forget her name by the end of next week after he gets confirmed.
Of course there isn’t anything to stop her from filing a proper police report to fully investigate this accusation. If the evidence proves him guilty beyond a reasonable doubt then remove him from the Court. I’d support that 100%.
You might not give a shit about women who have been abused, but some other people actually do.
That first part is a pretty ridiculous statement and absolutely untrue. My stance remains, do a proper investigation and give due process. This is neither.
So, apparently you are convinced that none of us care, based on the fact that we’ve repeatedly expressed our disgust at the treatment Blasey Ford and many others have received, but you expect us to believe that you do care, based on your careless dismissal of her.
and what due process would entail after a proper investigation , given the allegation may land outside the of the statute of limitations? Investigation may well lead to establishment that it did in fact happen, so what then? Given the senate hearing isnt a court of law, how exactly should they proceed with due process?
There’s no statute of limitations in Maryland for sex crimes. After an FBI investigation, Dr. Ford could walk into a police station, make a statement that she was sexually assaulted and the DA would determin, via presentation of evidence to a grand jury, of which, one would think, the results of the FBI investigation would be presented. The grand jury would determine if enough evidence is presented that sufficiently indicates whether a crime has been committed and if so, Kavanaugh would be indicted and the DA would press charges. If the grand jury wasn’t convinced, no indictment. There’s your due process. What’s Kavanaugh afraid of?
Negative.. attempted rape was a misdemeanor in 1982, with a one year statute. There is no legal process to investigate this claim. It's time barred now.
I stand corrected. I had heard Maryland didn't have a statue of limitations for sex crimes but getting rid of the limitations originated in 1996. Seems not much can be done legally but an FBI investigation can determine whether Kavanaugh testified truthfully about many aspects of his youth that he testified under oath to. As such, the Senate could call further witnesses to testify and be cross examined. If Kavanaugh is so certain of his "innocence" and portrayal of his youth, what is he afraid of?

Huh? Are you trying to say there should be no investigation?
So, what excuses you all cooking up for when the FBI investigation doesn't agree with you?
And so nobody thinks that's a slanted question, I'm asking both sides.
I think he shouldn't be on the supreme court because he's a partisan hack and he lies under oath, I've been very consistent about that. An investigation by the FBI can't change those things.

No, never said that. I just don't understand the logic I keep reading of "well if he doesn't want to be investigated, then he must be guilty." If that is the logic, then you must think every president who has ever been accused of any scandal (which is probably all of them) are guilty.

I have never said that but I will let you in on a little secret, when credible allegations are made, usually the accused party is guilty. And that includes most presidents.
Also, if someone doesn't want an investigation when they have been credibly accused, does that make you suspicious?

This guy isn't fit to serve. His temperament in the hearings yesterday proved that. And I do believe the accuser. Hopefully the FBI can talk to Judge and other witnesses. I have emailed my dipshit Senator who happens to be on the Judiciary Committee in the small chance that the sorry partisan bastard has a conscience.

Hey, I’d be happy to tell you about the years I volunteered at a women’s shelter, sat on their board of directors and was their president for one year. I’d be happy to tell you about the work I do now with women involved in the sex trade. However, given your brainless, douchey post above I suspect it wouldn’t make any difference.
And that is awesome for you sir (or ma'am)! My consensus remains that most in here who "give a shit" for the victim only "give a shit" through their keyboard and because politics.

You have no clue what those of us who “give a shit” have done or didn’t do to support Dr. Ford. You and others who pretend to know what others do.

People don't want a sexual assaulter on the SCOTUS if possible. How is that so hard to accept and not fight against...

4 witnesses said they don't remember the party. But I bet in the circles on the internet where you haunt they are parroting that Kavanaugh lie as fact.
Aren't you the one who admitted to sexual assault back in the day? I'm just going to take whatever you have to say with a huge grain of salt.
breaking news the FBI will be investigating the allegations before full Senate vote. Should be interesting. I guess it all comes down to what Judge says.

I'm sure it get's really expensive (which I'm sure is not costing him a dime personally), but if you know that investigation will clear your name and get you one of the most powerful jobs on the planet it seems like a small and easy price to pay.

my small self... like a book amongst the many on a shelf
1) The Dems clearly held onto this until late in the game for political reasons 2) the republicans clearly don’t want an investigation due to political reasons.
Both of those suck.
