So - there have been a lot of awful moments for this admin and a couple of good ones.  My top 3 awful...and I might be forgetting something...

    1) Failure to hold Russia accountable for campaign interference
    2) Separating families at the border
    3) Failure to hold SA accountable for the murder of this journalist

I know it's ridiculous to even try to engage, but do you even know the context in which that statement was made? Or do you just like the fact that the meme makes her look bad. How dare you compare the death of Chris Stephens to the disgusting cover up that is currently occurring.

. There is a time to put politics aside and see the danger that our young democracy faces. Trump doesn't care. Do you?
Trump isn't the threat to our democracy

    1) I'm kinda with Trump on trade....mostly when concerning China.  The new deal with Canada/Mexico from what I read (I think CNN so clearly not Trump News) seems like a win.  His methods with our friends weren't good, but result was.
    2) Some portion of the tax work.  Not the entire thing, but reducing corporate taxes was a good thing in my mind.  I don't like the overall change though since it adds to debt.
    3) I'm actually happy he met with NK leader and is willing to meet with all leaders.  I always thought that was silly. Still waiting on results. We will see.  So I like the method, just wish it was a different president so we might get better results ;)

Please understand that other than trade it's very small things and pales in comparison to the awful stuff.  But it's not all bad in my opinion, just somewhere in the 90-99% bad range. ;)

  • I'm always curious to know why people think reducing corporate taxes is a good thing.

Because, if a company is headquartered in the US but sells goods worldwide, they were subjected to a higher tax (roughly 11% higher) than their competitors that are headquartered outside of the US.  It's a disadvantage and incentive to move headquarters.

Yeah, there's that. Mocking an alleged sexual assault victim, mocking the handicapped reporter....so many tweets.

Actually another high on the list is his drive for Fake News and discrediting/marginalizing journalists and even seemingly incite violence against them.  That's a biggy I forgot. That actually is #1 or #2....can't decide.

There is plenty of tax being paid to the US government (except by companies like Google and Apple).  It is just poorly managed and deployed.

And going to bail out farmers to the tune of $18 billion because of retaliatory tariffs because of Team Trump Treason’s trade policies. But hey, let’s cut corporate taxes to the tune of $1.5 trillion, bail out farmers because of a self inflicted policy for another $18 billion and then we’ll blame entitlement spending. Woot! ‘Murica.

Mitch McConnell cut his lifetime congressional pension?

With cities, states and countries slashing their corporate tax rates to steal companies from each other only the companies (mostly top management) win and the tax payers lose. It's not a sustainable model. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer.

We need a change in philosophy and cities, states and countries need to start taking a stand. The US could start making that change if they showed leadership and started throwing their weight around.

    In Saudi Arabian dismemberment news...

Conservative news outlets are now floating the idea that Kashoggi was aligned with the Muslim Brotherhood, in an effort to smear him, 'justify' his murder and prevent Trump from taking any flack or doing anything Presidential.

Thanks for clarifying.  I don't necessarily agree but I honestly didn't know what you meant.  Taxpayers do win in many cases as these businesses create jobs...which then pay taxes...which create the need for other jobs in areas (depending on how big the company is....a manufacturing plant can easily create hundreds of jobs and these people need services in the area).

I will agree to one point, in a global economy, the playing field is much fairer for companies if the tax rates are equal.  That would be terrific

Honestly, as I've said there are several really awful things this admin has done.  This and the Republicans going along with it (though Rubio has spoken out strongly against current Trump path) is truly awful.  It's a legitimate reason to remove people from office in my opinion.  Cause if you aint against this, then you are ok with the killing of a journalist in a very awful manner.  As Rubio said no amount of $ (Trump referencing the $ with SA that he is concerned about) will ever buy back the moral authority.  The only thing that could, voting trump and those republicans that are complicit in this out of office and then time to mend wounds.

I agree. I don't know how much more damage he can do to America, but it seems that when one has no shame, the skies the limit. And it will take a long time to mend the wounds inflicted to America and to our relationships outside America. This is incredibly depressing.

Canada is skipping that Saudi investment summit now.... Just waiting for Canada to stop ALL activity with SA, including no more arms being sold to them (obviously), and no more oil being bought from them. I won't be satisfied until there is a complete Saudi boycott, which is what I've wanted for years now. This newest atrocity is just another drop in the bucket for that horrible country.

I honestly figured that's why the WWE is in bed with SA. Linda McMahon has a seat at Trump's table and I'm sure there are agreements the public doesn't know about that helped that happen. Trump probably helped broker that deal with his buddies in between selling weapons. Lots of incentive for Trump to personally maintain his relationship in SA. I hope they all suffer for this someday.
    It's a hopeless situation...

Right.  Huge difference.  The left cares more about a Saudi getting killed in a Saudi embassy than four Americans getting killed in an American embassy.

I think the chances of the left constantly bringing this up years from now, after all questions have been answered and the issue has been gone over a million times with a fine toothed comb, are pretty fucking slim, lol.

Oh wait, you’re still kicking Hillary even though 4 investigations never lead to an indictment and the repub congress cut funding for embassy security?

I know it's ridiculous to even try to engage, but do you even know the context in which that statement was made? Or do you just like the fact that the meme makes her look bad. How dare you compare the death of Chris Stephens to the disgusting cover up that is currently occurring.

. There is a time to put politics aside and see the danger that our young democracy faces. Trump doesn't care. Do you?
Right.  Huge difference.  The left cares more about a Saudi getting killed in a Saudi embassy than four Americans getting killed in an American embassy.
No one said or thinks that. You're despicable and your response doesn't even deserve to be acknowledged.
    It's a hopeless situation...
