1. Leeds '14 - Amazing setlist, great GA section (it felt so close to the band and energy from the crowd was great), the band seemed in such great spirit and played intensely. Best show of my life. 2. London 2 '18 - Setlist again unreal, performance of the band was superb. It ran Leeds quite close, which I never thought any show would. 3. Milan '14 - Seeing PJ live at the San Siro was incredible. The golden circle area made the pit really enjoyable. And 60,000 plus people signing along to Not For You will live long in the memory! Also loved Ed coming out early to play Porch solo. Great day all round.
1. 4/12/94 Orpheum (Culmination of 3 straight nights seeing them, turned me from fan to fanatic) 2. 7/11/03 Mansfield 3 (Again culmination of an amazing 3 night stand) 3. 8/7/16 Fenway Night 2.
1) 5/21/2010 - New York, NY - Unbelievable energy, super intense 6 song start then into Nothingman camp fire, "...with GEMS and RHINESTONES!!!", no Even Flow, Why Go set 1 closer, slow Lukin, Matt playing like he was on fire to close out Rearviewmirror, Mike's solo in Black, Hunger Strike with Ben, "it's time....it's time.....is it time?.....it's time....to....KICK OUT THE JAMS....MOTHERFUCKER!!!!", afterward felt like went 10 rounds in the ring
2) 10/3/2005 - Philadelphia, PA - lots of Lost Dogs (Wash, Sad, Alone, Hard to Imagine, Leaving Here), Faithfull, Bleed for Me into Blood, 1st encore with Around the Bend, Harvest Moon, Hard to Imagine, Crown, 8 song 2nd encore to close it out including excellent version of In My Tree and crowd continuing to lose it's collective shit with house lights on during RITFW
3) 8/5/2016 - Boston, MA - won TC lottery, 1st row, dead center, directly in front of EV. Lots of personal favorites in set 1: Release, Long Road, GTF, Faithfull, Grievance, DTE, intense version of Masters of War, US debut of Strangest Tribe, holding my wife during Just Breathe as though EV was playing just for us with 35K people watching , high energy Life Wasted into State, Mike yet again nailing the solo in Comfortably Numb, fun covers to wrap it up (Aerosmith, Beatles, Who) while sprinkling in crowd-pleaser Alive, topping off the night with 10+ front and center new friends with wine from EV
1. Krakow 2018 - from Of The Girl (my white whale song until then) to Fuckin Up / Yellow Ledbetter almost every song was a song I would have chosen for my dream setlist. I felt spoiled every second... 2. Berlin 2009 - My favourite set (until Krakow came along) combined with an incredible crowd in my favourite venue (Wuhlheide) on a beautiful summer day 3. Berlin II 2012 (or Berlin 2018, difficult to decide) - The closest I have ever been in GA, all the friendly people around, a great and energetic overall performance by the band
3. Its very tough to say. Probably Philadelphia 10/31/2009. But I could easily slot in Toronto 5/10/16, MSG 5/21/10, and Toronto 8/21/09 (when they opened for themselves).
The last two are a tied for third... Montreal '03 being the most underrated show i"ve been to. Setlist doesn't look special on paper but it featured incredible playing- especially Wishlist, Not For You, Black, RVm, and Alive. Wish they still jammed like that these days...

"What can you expect when you're on top? You know? It's like Napoleon. When he was the king, you know, people were just constantly trying to conquer him, you know, in the Roman Empire. So, it's history repeating itself all over again."
Hard to pick a top three, but off the top of my head:
Shepherd's Bush in 2009
MSG Night 2, 2010
Rome 2018

Randall's Island night 2 MSG 9/11/1998 Barcelona 2018 - Best crowd since Randall;s island for me.
BARCA 18 WAS THE BEST CROWD IN EUROPE I EVER SAW
It was insane in there, I've never been so hot in an indoor venue before.
Have you been sent the link to my periscope from that night?
no..dint see it or sent to me
"...Dimitri...He talks to me...'.."The Ghost of Greece..".
"..That's One Happy Fuckin Ghost.."
“..That came up on the Pillow Case...This is for the Greek, With Our Apologies.....”
London Ontario 2013 Toronto 2011 Detroit 2014 (Toronto 2009 almost surpassed the Detroit show)
2005 - London
2009 - Toronto
2010 - Buffalo
2011 - Toronto 1&2
2013 - London, Pittsburgh, Buffalo
2014 - Cincinnati, St. Louis, Detroit
2016 - Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, Ottawa, Toronto 1 2018 - Fenway 1&2 2022 - Hamilton, Toronto 2023 - Chicago 1&2 2024 - Las Vegas 1&2
Only been to 10 shows and am having a hard time making a top 3. No clue how others with more shows are able to do it. In no order and a little cheating.
Fenway 2 2 2016 Quebec City 2016 Berlin or Krakow 2018
u know how any times, that krakow berlin and barcelona changed in mind which was the best?lol
I do not think I will ever be able to decide. So different and still perfect sets for me. Jealous of Barcelona. That is #1 on my wife and I's list next time they play in Europe if they hit Spain again.

1. London Astoria 2006 - Tiny venue in Central London, 10c fan show (basically) 2. Amsterdam 2 2012 - legendary show 3. London 2 - 2018 - another legendary show
Nice - Astoria was so close for me too - it was beautiful...!
Special mention to Prague 2006... And to Manchester 2009 and Rome this Year too.... Oh no...I better just stop thinking about it
I would second this, plenty others come to mind but those three were unreal
Nice one Paul! Surely London 1 this Year must be a close one for you ?! I listened back to the bootleg today and I really think they pulled a great show. LBC was unreal and obviously PW... No wonder I was so surprised how serious Ed's voice was the next day cos he really pulled it off and looked so sick on reflection!! A great Year 2018 has been for sure.
Then it's a toss up between Wembley 07 and London 2 18, with a very honourable mention to Manchester 00 which was my first show and my 21st birthday in my home town. In fact that might still be my favourite... Oh I don't know
1. Knoxville 1998...1st show and landed Hard to Imagine...hooked. 2. PJ20 2011...Magic to celebrate this band over a long weekend with their friends collaborating here and there. 3. Wrigley 2013...the excitement, the ballpark, the storm, the recovery, the finish at 2am in Chicago = unreal. Never been to a bad show, so 4th Place tie for all the others that I’ve seen.
Can’t wait to dig into some of the Euro 2018 sets that everyone is touting. Caught a few highlights on PJ Radio. London 1 sounded awesome with all the Led Zeppelin riffs noodling about (only mentioning since it hasn’t been mentioned and someone asked what show would you like to have attended that you didn’t - I’d be happy to hang with JP and do my best awestruck Chris Farley bit.)
