    I'm very sorry for your loss ski-bum, it's one of the most difficult conditions that a person has to deal with in one's life. I felt about to cry when I read your post, but from one side I felt a little happy because now you have the strength to share your story with us. I hope your pain is controllable now and I wish you get your song at Fenway.

    I was also at the May 2006 show and remember Forever Young like it was yesterday. You could hear a pin drop in the arena. Eddie's voice strong, clear and commanding. It made everyone listen. The usual between songs chatter just stopped and it was noticeable. And then the tears started flowing. For my life long friend who I grew up with since I was a baby. JMC passed of cancer on July 16, 2005 at the age of 44 and that song, covered by Pearl Jam with Eddie on vocals, gave me hope, comfort and knowledge that it would be “okay.” Not the same as losing a child and not to diminish what the OP posted. Just that it, that moment, has so much meaning that will never be lost. And that got me through.

    Please play Forever Young for ski-bum and Matt. And for JMC.

    Sadness reading this again and chills listening to the song for the first time in awhile after hearing your story. I do not get emotional very often but I gotta admit that I have to fight back the tears thinking of what you have gone through.  Fuck I hope you get this song.
