Glad to hear. I would guess they are not forcing this and he is good to go. Great news for the rest of the tour!

It's always someone's first ever Pearl Jam show.  Can you imagine a show in which you didnt get to hear at least ONE of the following:

    Jeremy
    Betterman
    Black
    Small Town
    Yellow Ledbetter
    Even Flow

take that list and add alive, dte, gtf, ritfw, rvm, daughter, porch, lightning bolt, corduroy and youre almost at 2/3 the show if youre playing 25-27 songs.  of course you have to play the hits, (and for the record i love most of those songs) but maybe play 5-6 a night and keep rotating them to keep it fresher If they are a 27 song live show band now.  while its always someone's first show, the vast majority of fans have been doing this a long time.

I mean...at this point, even after almost 50 shows, even I dont want to hear a B-List setlist at a major show.  (Play a 10C only event, im all there for all the Bugs and Stupid Mops, etc.).  But I tend to bring a new person to a show more often than not.  The hits must be played.
A friend of mine's first Pearl Jam show was Greenville, SC  2016.  They played Betterman, and it was perfect, she loved it.  Didn't quite "get" the whole playing of Vs...

Give me YL over RITFW or Fucking Up every god damn day of the week.  Indifference with the lights up is pretty cool as well. Baba is fine too.  Pretty much anything but RITFW.
I always thought release would be one heck of a closer.

Unleash those 2007 shows! My audience recordings don't cut it and those were some great shows. They opened one with Porch. That mini tour had some awesome setlists.
    It's a hopeless situation...

It's definitely worth a try...and it does close one of the greatest albums of all time!

    - I don't mind if their sets eventually get shorter. My only request would be to start taking out openers again in that case. For my taste, they have a pretty good track record there. More often than not I've been genuinely excited to see the first band (MMJ, Band of Horses, Sparta, Sleater-Kinney, Sonic Youth, etc.).

    - The hits are hits and need to be played. It's what makes for such great energy with a crowd of 15-20k. B-sides and rarities are nice to have sprinkled in, but they can't carry a set.

    - Yellow Ledbetter rules

I think you need to not worry about it & enjoy the show(s) if you’re going.

Copenhagen 2007 was better though. If there is such a thing as "better".

If history is any indicator, it should be within a month. Perhaps July 10th will be when we know what it will be?

"Better Man" has turned into an absolute motherfucker-of-a-show-stopper. It should be played every single night.
I used to whine about The Tragically Hip not rotating songs often enough. I would give my remaining kidney to hear the most rote Tragically Hip setlist; one day I'll be saying the same thing about Pearl Jam and wishing I hadn't spent so much time complaining about setlists that are way more varied than pretty much any other band's.

I've got a problem with Better Man being some kind of joyful anthem that even Eddie for some reason pretends is about acutal good men, when in fact the lyrics are very explicitly about domestic abuse, and no matter how you spin, you can't make those lyrics mean anything other than that. That's why I don't like it anymore. Not so much because I'm bugged that a song about an important social issue has been twisted into some happy go lucky sing-a-long, although I don't like that, but because it just doesn't really make any damn sense now.
