    Literally stepped on his tail in my front yard. Jumped about 5 feet. He never moved. Then, he slithered back into his hole.

    Yes. Good to know they are not aggressive. Just walking in high stuff shuffle your feet a bit. I encountered a  few rattlesnakes in Colorado. New to the area. Had my dog. Fishing. Heard this unwordly immense rattle. Luckily dog did not get bit. Picked up my dog. Went to walk away and another reared its head up a few feet in front of me. Pretty much proof they did not want to bite me. Would if they had to. I just high tailed it out of there. Never went back!

    Update on the owlets. It seems they have left the nest. Saw them yesterday with momma keeping a close eye on me.

    Not as cool as the Coyote… I always enjoy seeing the babies this time of year..lives under my deck, there’s an even smaller one around, lil bigger than a mouse … I leave lettuce

    Took a day off near the end of school. Went hiking at nearby Arabia Mountain. Went toward the edge of the lake to get a photo of some turtles sunning on a log. In front of me a huge plop into the water. I assumed another turtle.

    Haven’t seen snakes in the wild in years, now twice in one week!
