    We are all laughing at him, because he continues to treat the world stage like some two bit marketing campaign.  He is eager to set a meeting and declares peace in our time before a meeting even takes place.  He issues a coin, lobbies for the Nobel, all while Kim is playing him for a fool.  Then, he compounds his bad strategy by tearing up the Iran deal, telling NK that the word of the US is only as good as the administration in power.  Yet he thinks that NK is going to give up nukes based on his "word"?  Are you kidding me?  NK has the best insurance policy in the world right now.. nukes aimed at Japan and SK.  We are in a position of no power.

    A nice summary from the American Conservative.  He's right.. Bolton poisoned it, but it's probably for the better.  

    After doing their best to antagonize North Korea over the last couple of weeks, the Trump administration is calling off the summit all together:

    U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday called off a planned summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, even after North Korea followed through on a pledge to blow up tunnels at its nuclear test site.

    Referring to a scheduled June 12 meeting with Kim in Singapore, Trump said in a letter to the North Korean leader: “Sadly, based on the tremendous anger and open hostility displayed in your most recent statement, I feel it would be inappropriate, at this time, to have this long- planned meeting.”

    Trump is responding to North Korea’s vehement objections to Pence’s “Libya model” rhetoric, which was just an echo of Trump’s own reckless rhetoric from last week. Bolton is probably very pleased that the Libya comparison had exactly the provocative and destructive effect that he surely intended it to have when he first started talking about it months ago. Having thoroughly poisoned the atmosphere in the weeks leading up to the meeting, Bolton managed to sabotage diplomacy with North Korea with a minimum of effort.

    All things considered, it is probably better that the summit isn’t going to happen. It was a mistake to agree to the summit so hastily without doing any of the necessary preparation, and the public recriminations between the two sides over the last two weeks underscore how far apart the U.S. and North Korea remain on the main issues. Abruptly canceling the summit may undermine inter-Korean rapprochement in the short term, but going to the summit and then walking out on it–as administration officials kept promising they would do if their unrealistic demands weren’t met–would have done more damage.

    yeah the Libyan model resulted in Ghadafi being dragged through the streets.  Not something to "model"

    So that coin seemed to weird to me that I did a little research about it yesterday. I wanted to know if there was precedent for such an odd thing (made so much more strange with this morning's news, lol). Turns out it's not unprecedented.


    Although with this one, the two people on it aren't staring each other down like a couple of morons on a playground, lol.

    Hmm. So these are sold at the White House Gift Shop, which was established by Truman..... But the White House claims to have nothing to do with them? That doesn't really make sense. They don't produce it, but sell it, so yes, they have something to do with it, and approve it.
    The gift shop site is REALLY slow btw - almost unusable. Not sure if it's because of general incompetency from everything connected to the WH now, or a ton of traffic from people who want the coin, in the hopes that it will be worth something someday, lol! Oh hey, there is actually another coin that includes South Korea as well.... Of course the WH hasn't managed to post images of either one in the store, but are selling them anyhow. :lol: Oh wait! The link to the coin with Un and Trump on it takes you to the coin with all three leaders supposedly on it..... Boy, the WH gift shop comes off like a scam website!
