@sdh8252 nice setup!  How do you like that Sansamp pedal?  I’ve been looking into that a bit.

Thanks Abe, yes the Sansamp Classic sounds great, I only use it through the Fender amp for the In Utero sound. I'm sure it can do way more than that though. If you're after a good compressor pedal too I cannot recommend the Origin Effects Cali76 highly enough, it even makes me sound good!!

Made some changes to mine and still might change the scran since I don't use it that much.  Need to swap the unobtanium & the tuner round so its not so quirky later today.

Have my first gig since covid tomorrow. This is my current board. I am playing the below vintage Marshall combo out for the first time tomorrow and had to rearrange my board. Pulled a bunch of stuff off that didn't sound as great with that amp and added a few things that do. My board is a mess of cables, so this is about as good as my gig board ever gets. Signal chain is messed up too. It is guitar into tuner, in to budwah, into sp compressor, into the morning glory, into the king of tone, into the zvex box of rock, into the tumnus, into the strymon el capistan, into the oceans 11 reverb, into the Mr Fazedelic phaser, into the analogman mini chorus, into the Marshall combo. This thing sounds great with humbucker guitars as well as single coils. I am pretty happy with it at the moment.

Very cool! Nice to see some SIB love! I don't see too many of their pedals anymore but they were all pretty great.

    Good luck with your gig!

yeah i love that thing. i have gotten other phasers over the years but nothing has really beaten that thing enough to make me keep it off of the board permanently. i like it because it has 2 settings and you can a/b them if you want. I set it up for a slower speed and then have a faster speed as a secondary setting. i don't know whatever happened to that company. not sure if they are still building pedals. last i saw, this pedal had been being made in a lighter blue color.

    thanks man! i'm excited!

Cool man! I think you should look at delay, phaser and wah next. I would probably add them in that order, too.

You're off to a great start!

I got a wah and a delay too.  I like the idea of a phaser!  Isn’t that what Mike plays at the end of yellow Ledbetter? (As seen on stern)

most times. he also has been known to play a univibe for that as well. i have not seen the stern performance so i can't speculate, but i would imagine he used a phaser.

Question for those with larger pedal boards:
how are you powering large boards?  I’ve never had more than 8 pedals but I’m thinking about expanding my board. Do you use multiple power supplies?  Or use a 12 input supply?

On my two large boards, I am using a Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 3+. Those are nice because they have two ports for adding either the Voodoo Lab x4 or x8 expansion power supplies. Those are isolated as well, are quiet and easy to find room for under the board.

I like the VL supplies because they are not only powerful and reliable, but also lightweight. Those boards each have 15 pedals on them plus the patch bays, power supplies and cables. That all adds up pretty quickly. It was not an inexpensive way to go, though.

A friend of mine has a couple large pedal boards too. He uses the a Trutone CS6 and CS7 and he loves them. I know he has daisy chained multiple pedals off of a single port on the CS6 and has had no issues. Just have to keep an eye on the mA load that each pedal needs.
