Can you reasonably explain why the OPCW inspectors are still being blocked by Assad and Putin? Anyone want to defend the actions of the nice guy ophthalmologist?
yes ... the decision to go in is based on the UNDSS ... they technically provide "security" ... western nations appointed ... it's being headed by an Australian right now ... this is clearly an attempt to derail the investigation ...
explain to me how Robert Fisk, Pearson Sharp and a plethora of journalists were in Douma but the OPCW can't get in!???
let's face it ... unlike Kheik Shaykoun ... there was actually no chemical attack to go along with the accusation ... that's why the narrative has changed to ... "Assad is still a dick even if he didn't gas his people" ...
it's pretty obvious now that there was no chemical attack in douma ... no deaths ...
“Clearly” an attempt? Based on what? Another blog post? A YouTube video? Your made up narrative?
The above link from global research Which is a pro-russia website from the Centre for Research on Globalization, which publishes conspiracy theories. Their founder Michael Chossudovsky has written that the 9/11 attacks were not committed by Islamic terrorists, and that the attacks were a pretext for war in the Middle East.
Assad captures another seven-year term after winning almost 90% of the vote, with polling only held in government-held areas.
Assad's victory was always a foregone conclusion, despite the presence of other candidates on the ballot for the first time in decades. Voting was held only in government-controlled areas, excluding huge tracks of northern and eastern Syria that are in rebel hands. The opposition and its western allies, including the United States, have denounced the election as a farce.
The win boosts Assad's support base, and provides further evidence that he has no intention of relinquishing power.
For the first time in decades, there were multiple candidates on the ballot. In previous presidential elections, Assad and before him his father, Hafez Assad, were elected in single candidate referendums in which voters cast yes-no ballots.
The government has sought to present this vote as a democratic solution to Syria's three-year conflict, although a win for Assad is certain to prolong the war. Much of northern and eastern Syria is in rebel hands, and those in the armed opposition show no signs of relenting in their fight to oust Assad.
The war, which activists say has killed more than 160,000 people, has left the international community deeply divided, with the US and its allies backing the revolt against Assad, who enjoys the support of Russia and Iran.
That division persisted in perceptions of Tuesday's vote.
In Beirut, US secretary of state John Kerry sharply criticized the Syrian election, calling it "a great big zero." He said it can't be considered fair "because you can't have an election where millions of your people don't even have an ability to vote."
There are some reports from the Russian foreign ministry that the inspectors have entered Douma and are at the site of the attack this morning. Not sure if that is accurate based on the sources. Either way, there'll be little to no evidence left if chlorine gas was used.

I guess we are just going to ignore this one lol
The truth, especially believable provable and reliable truth, is always ignored by conspiracy theorists.
From a Republican member of the senate foreign relations committee in yesterday’s NYT. But it surely can be explained away as western war mongering profiteering, I’m sure.

I'm not saying they are humanitarians either ... I just find it hilarious that people in the west somehow think the west is in the region for any other reason than oil, and to keep the US military weapons manufacturers happy...

Heck if it was up to me I’d let the Jews & Arabs settle their disputes on their own I’d prefer America stay completely neutral but we know that will never ever happen the Muslims will always have disdain towards Americans as long as we are Israel’s security blanket..

Which americans think we aren't there for oil? I mean it makes sense we are there for oil. Why else would we be there? Would you rather bad guys take over the oil supplies and hold the entire world hostage? Do you want to see $7 a gallon?
“Bad guys”? Seriously? American business interests will get the very highest price they can for their product. They are never, ever, going to offer a lower price for humanitarian interests.
my small self... like a book amongst the many on a shelf
