Very much enjoying the coverage. The double gold in the two-man bobsleigh was fantastic. An replica of the Nagano games twenty years ago, with both the Canadians and Germans sharing the podium. It is such a crazy sport when it comes down to 100ths/sec.
Did anyone watch the ice dancing final last night? I'm ecstatic for Virtue & Moir, an Olympic gold is an amazing way to end their careers. They skated beautifully and in the short skate the night before, they were utterly flawless. But I believe that the French couple should have taken the gold last night. Their skate was perfection. They skated like V & M from the night before. Flawless!"What the CANUCK happened?!? - Esquimalt Barber Shop0 -
The the ice dance was fantastic...
They needed a perfect skate to claim gold...Give Peas A Chance…0 -

Yes. I agree with you. The French pairs dance was so lyrical and flowing...just beautiful! But I'm happy Virtue & Mohr got their gold too..after all the years together and coming back after time off. I loved their rock n roll program ending with Santana's music more than the long Moulin rouge dance. The French couple is young...I'm sure they'll have many victories ahead.Fifthelement said:Very much enjoying the coverage. The double gold in the two-man bobsleigh was fantastic. Judged sports are always subjective ... but in the case of the ice dance, the judges got it ... Virtue and Moir were perfect, Scott had been saying for year, if they perfectly they’re tough to beat ... Canadian skaters have been screwed over for years by the crooked figure judging ... I’m just glad the Judges got it right...
mens hockey sucks...no two ways about, international hockey is just boring...Give Peas A Chance…0 -
I’m listening on the radio at Sweden vs Germany in hockey, it’s really exciting!!!!0

Your idea of exciting hockey is quite different than mine ... international hockey is horrible...for goodness sakes, those referees our terrible.Annafalk said:I’m listening on the radio at Sweden vs Germany in hockey, it’s really exciting!!!!
It’ll either Canada v Germany or Sweden in the semi-final...which is about where I though we’d be...Give Peas A Chance…0 -
Case in point, how bad the reffing is...Germany scores an obvious goal, referee was right there, he still had to go video review.
congrats Germany...
Germany vs Canada in the semi-final...

Hockey quarterfinal decided by Shootout.
What else do you need to say about Olympic hockey? What. A. Frigging. Joke.

Of course shootouts are joke .... no team sport should be decided by a skills competition. It was bad enough it’s used in international ... the nhl adopted it as well.F Me In The Brain said:Hockey quarterfinal decided by Shootout.

For regular season games with teams playing back to back and a long season I get it. (Although I don't like it)Meltdown99 said:

The NHL does not use it once the playoffs start.

I don’t like period ... no use for it ... if time was concern for the nhl, then go back to tie games. Or reward teams by giving the 3 points for regulation win ... far to often when games are tied with minutes left teams go into a defensive shell to get that point for getting to OT. Give teams reason to want to win in regulation...F Me In The Brain said:

either way it sucks for the us to lose that way...canada lost some Olympic shootouts as well.
at least Germany finished Sweden off in to.Give Peas A Chance…0 -
In to... do you mean in two...two minutes. It was 25 years since Germany won over Sweden so they better enjoy it while they can.Meltdown99 said:

I don’t mean it as a knock toward Sweden ... I was glad the game ended in overtime, not in a shootout...that’s all. I agree Germany should enjoy it. But I hope Canada takes them seriously...anyways this Olympic hockey feels weird without the nhl...hopefully they return in Beijing.Annafalk said:
