Maybe 20th is OK in Ziggo but 21st is not due to the fact that there is a euro game on 22nd. Due to security issues, they may have to secure the area the day before meaning that organizing show is not possibly on 21st. Getting tickets to Ziggo will be rough if there is no date in a nearby German city.
This argument is not valid - there is a celine dion concert at the ziggo on the 13th and a euro 2020 match at the stadium on the 14th (ie the same potential situation as you descibe for the 21st/22nd)
21st would be fine for concert by that logic (should Pearl jam want it)

Is the next show after Amsterdam still to the south?
yes

Booked my first hotel, Stockholm. Just in case the Lollapalooza lineup turns out to be decent. Stockholm is a cheap and easy trip from here. Then another trip around the spicier parts of the tour. Might have to skip Berlin this time if it is on a weekday before lolla. Everything after that works fine.

I think after what happened in the Last tour that 2 nights in a row are over. Band and specially ed's voice has to rest.
Since portugal and Spain are out of equation im just gonna sit this one out. Going to tge Maldives in january blows the trip budget for next year and quite probably changing jobs doesnt help.

Hard to tour if you can't do 2 nights in a row. All those off nights, you're paying to have the crew on the road with you. Two nights, then one off seems to be the sweet spot for most bands. EV did it in Europe this year, no problem.
EV did two nights in a row in Amsterdam to start the tour, after that there was at least one night off between shows.
True, but I don't think they'll only do alternate nights on full band tours. We'll see.
My other band is the Stones, few decades on PJ but in a 1 show every 4 days pattern now, i.e. show, 2 days off, show, etc. Every other night off seems reasonable at this juncture
Come on now...These guys are in great shape (surf, run half marathons, etc.) I think they can handle back to back shows. Their contemporaries’ tour schedules (Metallica, Foo Fighters, Tool, etc) make them look like senior citizens. Desire and the capability are very much two different things. I just just hope they don’t waste their 50’s when they can still rock out and be somewhat relevant.
In Seattle, Chicago and Boston in 2018 which had two shows per city they had an off day between shows. The only back to backs they had in Europe that year were the first two nights in Amsterdam. They were scheduled to go back to back in London as well but that’s where the whole gutted thing happened. So I’m with the folks who are saying not to expect back to backs, maybe with an exception or two. And I know nothing of course.

Metallica has a night off between shows even if they are playing the same city.
PJ can do back-to-back nights in same city. But it seems they started having separate travel days and not playing shows in different cities on back-to-back nights.

Given that the last bunch of stadium shows had off days while in the same city, I wonder if that will be a more common theme. Especially as that Euro tour had a few back to backs that year, but gave Ed almost know time to recover while on tour.

The Peppers at Pinkpop is probably not what Dimi thinks is 'spicy' 😜 Usually ticketsales for PP start in February, but for 2020 already November 23, don't know what that means though, if anything
