Personally I'd love to see a busted down acoustic tour.  I think its time for this.
    This would be awesome.

Are these wild guesses or some inside info?
I'm going to take a wild guess that these are wild guesses.

If PJ doesn't tour Australia in 2020 .. I will be selling all my music and merch and leaving the Ten Club.  They seem happy to travel all the way to Europe on a regular basis, so why not Australia?

Oh and please sign the petition if you want an Australia/New Zealand tour in 2020.

Totally understandable leaving the club as the touring has drastically slowed down but the music is still great, I'd keep that.

Note that they have barely traveled anywhere as a band in their home country recently, traveling to 3 US cities over what appears to be a 40 month period 9/16-12/19. The population of the USA to other countries...the northeast has more population than Canada and Australia combined. And we draw tons of out of town fans when they play here. Tickets are impossible.  They could never play enough shows here.

Not sure I'd call Can't Deny Me 'great'.

I think the original poster said that if they dont tour, then they will be selling all their music and merch.  And the response basically was "dont sell your music, keep that"

I would. I actually listen to it by choice, which I can only say for 4 songs off LB (Pendulum, Getaway, Sirens, Yellow Moon).  I love the sentiment (probably helps) and melody of Cant Deny Me.

Someone else posted this but I'll echo it. The primary benefit of Ten Club membership is access to tickets. At some point there are only so many bootlegs and black t-shirts that one needs, you know? So if the band isn't going to tour for a year or more then they should give us the option of putting our memberships into hibernation. Just say, 'no tour in 2019 but you can maintain your membership for $10 and you'll get a bootleg but not shirt.' At a minimum they should do this for people living in Asia/Australia where the band hasn't appeared in 5 years.

I don't mind them not touring. It is a free world and they can do what they want. (I also saw McCready play at the Showbox and that was fun. And I saw Ed at the grocery store a few months ago. So it isn't like I haven't seen them. I kid.) But I do mind paying for a benefit that I don't receive. If they aren't going to tour then let us all save a few bucks.

Is this really an argument over $10/year?  Isn't "Digital" $20, and you're saying it should be $10 instead?
For a band the size of PJ, $20/year for the fan club is nothing.

I think it's not so much about money as it is about, how big of a burden would it be to communicate with these loyal fans? It's doable. We will continue to pump cash into what's become a merchandise operation but it would be so noble to give some heads up to what's going on, what's coming up and so on. It's a given they don't have to, but it's not an insane request.

They're humans, they're artists, they're an enormous rock band. I imagine a lot goes into making any official announcement, even one saying "hey, nothing happening anytime soon."

As a fan, I take no news as nothing happening in the near future. They can wake me up if that changes.

Hanging on one band is a tough spot to be in. I preach diversifying one's interests. If there are many bands you enjoy, someone is always going on. Think of the poor Tool fans who see two-term Presidents come and go between albums.

Speaking as a child of the 90's...most of my favorite bands are dead, broken up or dormant.  Personally, I do have younger bands I love and seeing them in smaller venues has been awesome.  The older bands have forced me to find new loves.

What I find hard about that, is big bands that were around before the 90's are still going.  The Stones, U2, Springsteen, Metallica, GNR, etc....   It always feels like our bands got cut way too short.   Was really expecting the bigger ones to go the distance :(

The upside is most definitely, that it's our band from the 90's that's going the distance.  I do feel pretty lucky that my favourite band keeps going and going.

That's what makes it so infuriating when talent is wasted (RAGE AGAINST THE FUCKING MACHINE! and Tool). No reason RATM shouldn't be together when the world truly needs their voice, but they of course have their reasons, it just sucks. Then there is the meh bands like +Live+ who I would go see in a decent venue in Chicago, but I'm not traveling for them or paying $100 in an amphitheater.

Off the top of my head, 311 and Clutch are really the only 2 bands I've been into for 20+ years who are slugging it out consistently. Greg Dulli, too, if you count all of his projects. Pearl Jam, Tool, and Radiohead have a slower pace these days even though they've been (technically) continuously active.

Most bands just slow down or break up. If you want to keep a steady concert calendar, no choice but to keep your ears and mind open.
