European Tour 2018, Ticket Price

Hi Guys.....I hope someone of the band will read this post.
I follow you since 20 years with awesome endless love, past present and future. I agreed when you fought against an increasing tickets price for alive shows, even when all of us knew that the battle was hard to win, but i really appreciated that kind of thinking.
BUT now unfortunately i have to pay more than 100$ for a single show. Don't you think it's too much? if i would take my family with me it would cost 400$ and more, that's crazy.
I promised to myself that if in the future prices don't go down, this will be my last live show....and i feel very sad for that but cannot do in any other manner.
Hope someone of you guys will read these words and do something to fight against these organisation like livenation and others to stop them to destroy a fan dream.
Sincerely yours with deep love
Francesco

Prices are never going down. And to be really clear the thing they were fighting against were the arbitrary fees that TicketMaster placed on their tickets.  For example when no one new who pearl jam was, Ticketmaster did not give a rip to charge a standard "convenience fee" which had prior been called a handling fee.  When Pearl Jam got quickly huge and started their US tour in 1993, Ticketmaster manipulated the fees to make money on a hot ticket.

We are nearly a quarter century removed from that battle, nothing really much changed and the reality is that bands make their money from touring by and large.
His eminence has yet to show.

Maybe they should consider different price levels.  I am sure they have and for whatever reason price every seat the same.

They are like this for the Euro tour though with 10 club tickets being some of the best seats then they have to be in the higher priced tier.

  • ok ok....i read everything but problems remains, for me.
It should absolutely possible for the band and their management to give to different tickets price different status and/or place in the venue.
Just to make an example: it's absurd that ten club tickets gives us only a 15' prior entry expecially without a pit inside (ok i know history about the pit...), but in the end it doesn't mean nothing, even because after these 15' other people come in and stay around us as well. So which kind of advantage do i have/do we have?
I don't know, at the moment i don't have the solution but i'm sure that something someone has to do about that.....at a higher price or as fidelity should correspond an adequate system to assign tickets or places in the venue.
    Hope someone will do something.

Out of curiosity, are the prices you speak of in Euros? If so, that would translate to $124 US.

I do not find their pricing out of range. The people who work for them seem to remain with them forever. I'm sure that they are given pay accordingly. Costs have increased for us, but they have increased for them.

Have you looked at ticket costs of other well established bands?

Just this past fall, a friend of mine and I turned down going to see an older band touring the area because by the time they added fees, it would have been the cost of a PJ ticket. The other band played for about an hour and twenty minutes. They have also pulled themselves out of retirement to run the casino circuit. No thank you.

PJ plays at least three hours. That is also something to consider.

    Just some food for thought.

PJ tickets are far from expensive when compared to many other major acts. But I think they're getting pretty close to average now, as opposed to how they were cheaper than most not very long ago.

I paid $175 for a pair of tickets to see Jack White last week. I'm assuming PJ will be more expensive than that. Will be interesting to see the final prices with fees and such all added in.

For me seeing this band is the best night out of my year. I’ll pay the price very happily .... with a huge smile. It’s worth every cent and more to me
