I bought a bottle of Woodford Reserve Double Oaked today. $60.00. That stuff is damn good and makes me question why I would spend more than that on a bottle of bourbon.

There is so much good stuff that is affordable and not allocated, it almost makes it seem like cheating.
I will look for that.  Nice price.

Whats the proof?  I usually only look at higher proofs.

    90.4

Both standard and double oaked are same proof.

Had a chance to go to EverNorth today. Made it in just enough time to grab a couple bottles, one rye and one single barrel bourbon. "Essence", I believe they are called. Excited to try them!

Also, their facility is really cool, awesome cat hanging around and the guy behind the counter is great. Very knowledgeable and friendly. I could easily spend way too much time and money there.

Woodford Double Oaked will always have a spot in my collection.  Great stuff!  I've also given that to people who aren't whisky fans and I don't recall one person not liking it.

Agreed. I am on my second bottle and I think it will be a staple in my collection.

I have really been liking the Heaven's Door Refuge Rye and Ascension Kentucky Strait Bourbon lately, too. Those will both be shelf bottles for me for as long as I can get them. Both are pretty reasonably priced which is also welcome.

Fucking Costco today. One bottle just sitting alone on the shelf. No display or price tag.

Great score!  You're not happy with that price?  I usually pay around $50 if I ever find it.

No, I'm very happy with the price. Around here, it is very difficult to find and the last bottle I saw on a shelf was $120.00.

It was just dumb luck to find a bottle for MSRP and Costco is about the last place on Earth I expected to see it.

Man! Awesome find!  I haven't stumbled across a bottle of Rare in over a year.  To be fair, I haven't tried hard enough to find one tho.

I kind of feel like I should buy a lottery ticket today because I seldom have good luck like this. Haha

I had a little bit of this with a friend a few nights ago. This has got to be one of the best bourbon experiences I've had so far. Very complex with a great mouth feel and the finish hangs on like crazy. It is the easiest drinking, most satisfying higher proof bourbon I think I've tried. I actually went back to EverNorth to get another bottle but it was all sold out. For $60.00ish, I think it is a terrific bargain, too. Those guys are killing it!

The Costco near me is often a great spot to find allocated or hard to find bottles.  Only real reason I have a membership.  haha

That's great.  I've never seen Eagle Rare at my Costco.  Good call on these street tacos too!

Picked up a bottle of EH Taylor last week.  Was sitting right on the service desk at my local spot.  $60 didn't seem too bad.

$60.00 for EH Taylor is a steal around here. A local spot has a few bottles for the low low price of $150.00.

I was lucky early on and I got Eagle Rare and Blanton's for damn close to MSRP. Since the, just about any allocated bourbon I've found is ridiculously priced.

When I saw this sign at one of my local bottle shops I almost swerved off the road. Never thought I'd see either product on a sale sign.

Nice find! Did you get a bottle of the Weller Special Reserve? If so, how do you like it,? (Assuming you tried it or have had it before.)

I bought neither. I no longer drink high octane beers. Keep my ABV below 7.5
As for the Wellers I don't drink bourbon. Though I have tried it on numerous occasions. Even have a bottle for when someone wants to try it.
