I think and I belive "Why Go" goes a lot deeper than we might first imagine.

"Diagnose" - A strong, weighty word..."To diagnose"...Heck of a responsibility. "The diagnoser"...better be sure about the diagnose beeing set, cause the "Person" who´s beeing diagnosed, her whole life depends on the diagnose and the consequenses of the diagnose.
Why go home?..She thinks,..She says.
This is where They want her to be, right?..
As long as she´s in "that place", They´ve got her exactly where They want her to be. Weak, fragile, no will,..easy to control.
And if she gets stronger, They´ll lose their grip on her.
For me it seems like "The Mother" has projected her own missory
on her daughter, (eighter it is her actual daughter or it could be the daughter inside the mother herself), which resulted in her daughter´s state of mind.

I like this song a lot, cause it´s realistic and
the "situation" beeing described, unfortunately,..
it happens too often.

Thanks for letting me post...Heather...who, by the way, has a very weak and dependent mom and all 4 of her daughters are very strong and independent. Our mother has lots of problems with this and in the end left all of us with self-doubt and years of therapy to get her poison out of us.

Scratchin a Letter

for me, the drum shuffle at the start is so exciting, almost makes my heart stop. i was kind of disappointed that Matt didn't give it at boston... he's every bit as good if not better than krusen....
but i was still mesmerised by it. why go is the ultimate example of what great musicians PJ are; the guitar solo is without a doubt one of the most electrifying, the harmonised chorus is pulsating, the bass line is dirty and heavy and the raging vocals....what more could you want from a rock n' roll song?

does anyone think it would make a great opening to a show? perhaps sometime soon?

and for me now why go home means something different than when i first fell in love with it.

Now it means there is a reason to go home the reason is that she scratches a letter into a wall . . . so that maybe another child won't feel so all alone.

I really do love that song. It's magnificent.

yay!!! appreciation for one of my fave songs!! all too often people rate this as their least favourite on Ten but i love it. it is soooo good. how can a song with lyrics as deep as these and a chorus so catchy not be massive? it is on a par with leash for songs i love to listen to when im pissed off
