Great topic this week...haven't listened yet but will provide my own list now to avoid being influenced by the ones you two three make.

    Fave/Least Fave
Alive/Even Flow* (just a bit bored of EF these days...I guess I listen to too many boots - although oddly enough Alive is also on most of them!)
RVM/WMA* (If only due to its low total of live performances...again, all I listen to are boots these days)
    Immortality/Stupid Mop (edit: Satan's Bed)
    Hail Hail/I'm Open
    Given To Fly/Pilate
    Parting Ways/Soon Forget
    Save You/Arc (edit: Get Right)
    Severed Hand/Big Wave
    Unthought Known/Johnny Guitar
Getaway/Sirens...no Future Days....no Sleeping By Myself...yes, Sleeping By Myself

*Still great tunes, just gotta pick something for the bottom. And, no, I wouldn't take a piss break during Even Flow.

...and now I'm listening and regretting/questioning putting Even Flow and WMA last. Again, no songs on the first two albums come remotely close to being "clunkers."

...and if I'm not counting the four non-songs on Vitalogy, my least would be Satan's Bed.

I agree about the first two albums for sure. Even my “least favorites” are songs I like a lot (mostly).

Enjoyed this one even though you two were more than kind to the album. It's definitely in position 10 out of 10 in my album rankings. With this said, it's not all bad... it's just that these songs pale in comparison when put next to their earlier work.

Referencing the podcast, did you get that Muse playlist from anyone else? If not, check out these big tracks from their second, third, and fourth albums:

    Plug in Baby
    New Born
    Bliss
    Citizen Erased
    Stockholm Syndrome
    Hysteria
    Time is Running Out
    Butterflies & Hurricanes
    Supermassive Black Hole
    Knights of Cydonia
    Map of the Problematic
    Starlight

I can’t argue with that last sentence!
I did get a Muse playlist but your list has a few extra tracks that I’ll add to it. Thanks!

I steered clear of Muse's last few albums when I made my list. The more recent tracks aren't quite as good. Hmmmmmm...sounds familiar.
  • This week, we take a trip to the Songwriter's Corner. Most band members just lend their voices on an instrument to a song written by someone else. Pearl Jam is unique in that every member is not only a top notch player, but also a top notch songwriter. So, from time to time, we will be featuring our favorite songs written a specific band member. This week is the mighty Mike McCready! Of course we will also be digging in to emails and the Pearl Jam Story of the Week! Enjoy!

I'm sure I'm in the minority, but I find myself listening less and less as the email portion takes up far too much time.  I'll skip ahead and try to find when you start talking about the theme of the episode, but probably miss some that way.  I like the discussion around the theme, but it just takes too long to get there.  Just my two cents.

Last week, we discussed our favorite Mike songs, but this week we go deeper with a look at some of Mike’s side projects and talk some gear. And as always, we read some emails and tell a Listener’s Pearl Jam Story.

Thanks again for reading my PJ Story at the top of the show this week. Soldier Field 95, what a crazy show. My first memory of that show was hearing the "Let My Love Open The Door" cover and just marveling at how great it was. I like that they take a few risks with some of the covers they do. You're also right about that Rockin' in the Free World from the VMA's feeling a bit slowed down, especially in comparison to some of the versions PJ has played but there is something magical about that version with Neil on stage in front of a VMA type crowd just soloing and rocking out that was perfect. Keep up the good work fellas.

Love Soldier Field. Three takeaways from the podcast:

    1. "It's Okay" is the most epic tag of not only Daughter but maybe of any song.

    2. Let My Love Open The Door is their greatest cover- hope they bring it back this summer.

    3. Brad B should have kept on with the podcast while Brad L went to take a piss. It would have been awkwardly funny.

@Brad Lyons: Maybe I missed it on one of your podcasts but what bands did you play in/for - or are you a solo artist? Not to sound creepy (seriously) but I looked you up (googled your name) and stumbled upon an album called "Ten Steps." Is that yours?

In the middle of listening - definitely a few deja vu moments, all good though.

And hey, the "two hosts...different perspectives" is what makes your pod enjoyable.

Without a little friction life would be cold and miserable.

In the middle of listening - definitely a few deja vu moments, all good though.
