This one started life as a black, 1994 Fender Standard Precision Bass. The body is the only original part and obviously, it has been refinished. I learned a lot from this one, both as a player and also from doing all of the modifications and repairs on it. The neck is a Fender replacement and it has a Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound P-Bass pickup. The bridge and tuners are ESP parts.

These ones are ESP LTD Hybrid-300s from the early '00s. I replaced the pickups with Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound Tele neck pickups in each one. The black one has a Seymour Duncan P-Rail in the bridge position and the sunburst one has a Seymour Duncan '59/Custom Hybrid humbucker. Jacks and switches were replaced with Switchcraft parts, they both have Graphtech bridge saddles, WD Custom pickguards and Hipshot locking tuners. These are really fun guitars to play!

Fender CB-60SCE Acoustic/Electric bass. It has D'addario black nylon tapewound strings and it sounds pretty close to an upright bass when plugged in. I bought it to have a cheap bass for taking places or to just grab off the wall for spontaneous playing.

Last one. This is a Martin DCX1E. Bought it in probably '02 or '03. It has laminate back and sides and a solid spruce top. It gets played a lot and I have had it partially refretted twice due to play wear. Over the years, it has definitely opened up tone-wise. Lots of deep bass that just blooms into the room like a good acoustic should.

Cool! One of my all-time favorite guitars. Not only does it sound great, but the way it is built makes it very stable in various climates and conditions. I played with mine at outdoor venues in Florida for years and it just shrugged off the excessive humidity and salt in the air. Never needs adjustments between summer and winter in the midwest either.

I love that guitar so much. And if I recall it wasn’t that expensive, maybe around $700?

Yeah, somewhere around there. When I bought mine, I think I played about 20 different acoustics and that one was a clear standout.
It's interesting for me when other people play that guitar, they always remark about the tone and feel of it. Some of those people have some VERY nice instruments to compare it to. That "cheap" Martin holds its own very well.

New Strat is here. Sticker says to wait 24 hours until opening. Ugh. Sooo close.
Exciting!! New guitar day is always a good time.
As for waiting, I think that's pretty much for nitrocellulose finishes. If you bring it from a cold to a warm environment, the paint will crack. It's called finish checking and some people actually try to do that on purpose. Gives you that relic'd, old guitar vibe. With poly finishes like most new production guitars have, it is much less of an issue.
Congrats on the new guitar, bud! Can't wait to see it.

Wow, I've never heard of a 24 hour waiting period. I could see that for an acoustic, but a Strat? "The waiting is the hardest part..."

Thanks everyone! Kicking myself in the butt for not getting a Strat sooner. So far I Like the sound of it way better than a tele.
Yeah, it's a trip. I have always played my Les Paul and also a Gretsch. Don't know why I resisted getting a Strat or Fender in general. I got my Jazzmaster and fell in love. Figured I'd try out Strats and am baffled as to why it took me so long. I still love my Les Paul, but I honestly haven't picked it up since I got my Jazzmaster and Strat. Luckily for my bank account, I really love the Strat I got, so I have stopped the search(in theory). In the future, I will probably give some of these other companies a try.

That’s a badass guitar man! I love strats. I agree I like playing them even more than my Tele. Enjoy!

Can't remember if I posted this one already. It's an ESP Vintage Four bass. Made in Japan in 2007.
