    Good point. Makes the first Iraq war even more significant when you consider that and the reasons we intervened.

    true but they are kind of important to our country and to the global economy. as I asked before would you'd rather have Putin's hands on those oil fields?  how do you think that would work out for the rest of the world?

    To be fair that has been the only reason the west has had any interest in the middle east since oil was first discovered there in 1908... first with Britain and France calling the shots, then the US entering the party later... they wacked up the entire thing after WW1... literally redrawing borders, creating countries, and installing monarchs... them the Red Line Agreement where essentially western controlled oil companies sat down at a table and divided up and distributed control of the oil reserves amongst themselves

    to be honest, i hardly think about the war on terror as I don't really think about terrorism in general unless something happens in the world.

    maybe it because I Iive in Canada and we really haven't had a terrorist attack.  who know, i may feel different if for example I was in NY when 911 happen but I have a feeling I still would'nt really think about it.

    this may be nitpicking, but i believe that the official name of the war is the "war on turr"...

    we are less safe today. sure some things have been thwarted, but going in to iraq was criminal, and we have killed nearly a million iraqis. not all of them were "bad guys." We have created more enemies if anything.
