meds made it easier to do what he did.  but that feeling or emotion that made him do what he did was always there...

at least that is what i believe.
Well I think it's probably quite difficult to untangle the relationship between addiction and the depression, or emotions that it brings.  I absolutely agree that recovering addicts will always carry the baggage that drives their addiction, but I don't necessarily think that someone like Chris was a ticking time bomb waiting to go off.  Respectfully, I think that it's important to make the distinction here, not all depressed people will do what he did.  I think it was more of a 'perfect storm' of factors that coalesced in that moment - depression, medication, being alone, guilt from relapsing, shame etc.  The point, I believe his wife is getting at, is that doctors prescribing these addictive medications, must bear some responsibility when their patients' addiction is inadvertently reactivated, they really should know better.

**Mods - I understand this is a really sensitive subject, and if you would rather keep personal opinions off here, I more than understand.  I guess from my point of view, it helps to discuss it, and I don't think there are any people in my life who care more about Chris' passing than the people here, hence my engagement in this particular conversation.  That said, I really wouldn't want to upset anyone, so will understand if you believe my comments are not in keeping with the mood of the thread.**

Yep I agree. I have the same feeling and meds will make you care less and proceed with your plan with less thought.

I've been listening to that song a lot this last week. It's a musical masterpiece.

She lived like a martyr how she'd fly so sweetly.

There hasn't been a day in the last year that I haven't listened to his voice in some capacity. Whether it be SG, TOTD, AS, or solo. I can't believe we're coming up to a year.

It's fucking unbelievable how fast a year flies by as we get older.
And so you see, I have come to doubt
All that I once held as true
    I stand alone without beliefs
The only truth I know is you.

    It's crazy right?
Seems like yesterday I woke up to the news.

We're all growing old together, that's a little consolation.
