I think AD goes to heights of genius that KFAD almost hits... BUT, beginning to end i feel KFAD is the better album.  The range and diversity of the songs are incredible.  Not a weak song on the album IMO.

I know what I am listening to this week.  In the past I never gave it footing near the level of AD....but will work it for a while and see if I can hear it differently.

King For A Day... is such a great album. I agree it's up definitely there with Angel Dust. I don't skip a single track on either of them.

IMO the three album run from The Real Thing -> Angeldust -> King For a Day is like nothing any other band has done.

I don't skip a single track on any of those.

Their other albums are also strong but those 3 are the gold standard for me.

Album Of The Year has some really great stuff too. If you only look at the Patton albums (I rarely play play the 2 Mosley records anymore), they've got a insanely strong 4 album run. For me, Sol Invictus is a little weaker than the rest.

There’s plenty on AOTY & SI that I like / love, and AOTY was definitely the stronger of the two... but neither can hold up to the lightning they bottled on the three prior albums.

AOTY has some of my top 20 FNM songs ( Ashes to Ashes, Mouth to Mouth, Last cup of sorrow.  While Sol Invictus is not their crowning jewel, it's hard for me to think of a band that has had a better comeback album with over a 15 year gap than this one.

Matador and Motherfucker are 2 of my favorite FNM songs, but definitely the weaker album.  Still was surprised at well it turned out after so long between albums

I totally agree with you on those two songs.  Throw in Superhero and that's my three favorites from the album.

"Separation Anxiety" has a nice old school FNM vibe to it.

‘The Real Thing’ is still my favorite FNM album. To be fair though, it’s probably in my top 10-15 records of all-time.

Matador, Separation Anxiety, Cone of Shame & From the Dead are unreal. I really like Sunny Side Up too, from the first second I heard it... it’s weird, but I really like it. I dig the rest of the album... some songs more than others for sure, but SI is a solid contribution to FNM’s catalog.

My posters from secret serpents got delivered yesterday... the foil for the second Boston ‘15 show is unreal, I’m glad I spent the extra $ for the variant. Also, what are the odds I get the Philly poster delivered to my house ten years after the show to the day?

If anyone is interested, they sent me a code for 15% off any purchases. I got all I’ll be getting from that website so if anyone wants a coupon code, send me a DM.

Secret serpents has a few scratch and dent fnm posters. I grabbed one from webster hall show I saw for 25 bucks! I held off on poster. Not my favorite but couldn't resist the price and a variant! Checkitouuuut

$25 for a Tara McPherson? Great score, great print.

^yeah! was a killer show too! A last minute decision to go, small venue...merch table there much diff than pj. I passed on everything, but they sold posters, band signed for 75. Nobody was camping out for them or really seemed to care.

FNM and Mr Bungle tours cancelled. Mike Patton says his mental health isn't where it needs to be, and refuses to perform if he can't be 100%.

    That's a bummer.

Glad I didn't plan to travel for any shows, that dual billing for both Bungle & FNM @ Riot Fest seemed too good to be true.
