My understanding is that basically the current admin is blaming Obama because his admin gave Flynn the initial security clearance; however, Flynn "retired' (forced out/fired) in 2014 due to be a shitty supervisor, employee and his dysfunctional work style. None of these would qualify him for a removal of his security clearance if I understand it correctly. What this comes down to with the Trump admin is either laziness, ignorance, collusion or a combination of the aforementioned. For those interested, here is the executive order Clinton put in to effect https://fas.org/sgp/clinton/eo12968.html. I found sections 3 - 6 most interesting as it pertains to re-investigation and processes for removal of the clearance.

That would be the logical assumption, but this is the government so why make it simple. If the security clearance really only is something that allows you access if you're in the position to receive it, then revoking it is unnecessary, It seems like a loophole that needs to be fixed. Without an ID or electronic database access, the clearance should be worthless, but as we've learned it seems like an easy way to get a position and pick right back up without any further consideration until the next mandated review.HughFreakingDillon said:
