He's not going to make it but if he does, no way he gets 60+ million votes. He loses re-election in a landslide. The emperor has no clothes.

Once the conservative media machine goes to work on whoever the Democratic nominee is many Republican voters will pull the lever for him again. Can't count on them to do anything else. If the Dems get their base, they'll win. If they don't, they won't. It will be just like any other election. Any idea that Republicans will turn on Trump en masse is a pipe dream.

Not enmasse. He’s already lost the educated over 65 crowd, majority of women and 95% of minorities. There were a lot of Reagan dems and independents that voted for him who thought he’d build coalitions and become presidential. He’s done nothing but alienate every voting bloc and institution except white males. Untenable.

Today maybe. But, once the choice is between Trump and some invented boogieman caricature that many Republicans will always see when they look at a Democratic nominee, they will vote for him again.

I like the fact we finally get a European Ten Club store just as the whole American experiment dies in an ugly orange fire.
    Maybe they know...
The whole American experiment dies? Nah, it is a blip. We've had them before. We'll correct it and move forward. 10c outsourcing some fulfillment to Europe isn't a sign of anything other than 10c trying to make things easier for some fans. But excellent hyperbole!

Any candidate for either major party gets 60 million, no matter what... I personally think he is dead in the water, but that still gets you 60 million votes as the Republican on the ticket, almost no matter what... same goes for the Dems

Friendly reminder: he lost the popular vote by 3 million... the wacky electoral college system handed him the presidency,  not the American voters

I am well aware of that, but that changes nothing as far as my faith in America preventing a fascist from becoming POTUS goes. Enough voted for it to happen, and obviously that's all that matters at the end of the day. I'm not trying to slag everyone in America at all btw, lol. Everyday I try to ease my anxieties about all this by remembering that the majority of Americans (albeit a way-too-slim one) are still sane and rational. It's just too close for comfort, which is why I can never trust it again in this context - at least not unless a LOT changes before I kick the bucket.

He got majorities in the states he needed to win the election and the Electoral College is still going to be there in 2020. Running up the score in California isn't going to help the Democratic nominee win Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan. It's been said a million times before and we all know this. I say it now only to illustrate that it is dangerous to assume 2020 is in the bag.

People like to point that out...as if it's not still going to be in place in the future.  He'll probably lose the popular vote in 2020, but that doesn't mean he'll lose the election.  The electoral college will never go away. And, at least given the current landscape, will always favor more conservative and populist candidates.  After 2016, I am astonished to see anyone think he has no chance in 2020.

Agreed, it's highly unlikely the Electoral will go away under this Constitution.  You need 2/3 of states to ratify the elimination.  The change would negatively affect half the states, likely.

That wasn't my point at all... dont give a shit about the EC...

The point is I'm tired of America as a whole to be labeled and looked down upon because of this idiot... the majority of Americans didn't even vote for him... he represents a minority..  and that minority gets slimmer by the day...

America was the first western white nation to elect a minority person of color as its leader... with a majority both times... give me a ring when Canada or Europe does that shit, i'm not holding my breath...

I'm not going to let Donald Trump define America

Too late man. Unfortunately, this isn't up to you.
But if you think people think every American sucks because of all this, you're wrong. That's not how people feel. They just don't have faith in America as a whole mass of people making a decision because there are just so many people who are ready to do the wrong thing... and the stuff that influences people to do that are running full blast 24/7, so to think it's going to get better seems like a tough hill to climb right now.
(BTW, I'm sure Canada and/or Europe will have a non-white leader soon enough - this is far from the realm of impossibility in either of those places.... and I seriously doubt that they will be greeted with the level of racism that Obama was in the US)

I hear you but we own him. We elected him and to an extent we do deserve to be looked down on because of it. Some of us more than others, absolutely...but the country as a whole isn't putting its best foot forward these days.

I hear you but we own him. We elected him and to an extent we do deserve to be looked down on because of it. Some of us more than others, absolutely...but the country as a whole isn't putting its best foot forward these days.
"We" elected him with an assist from Russia. Don't forget that. And don't forget the power of social media and the ability for it to dupe and influence. Foreign governments don't spend a million dollars a day and not expect a return on their investment. The three states that gave the electoral college to Team Trump Treason and the districts that were the focus of the Russian bot farms? it all played a role. Master stroke by Putin.

We have begun to have non white mayors of towns in Ireland, and members of local authorities. I really would like to see a non white leader before I die.

The embarrassment is 60+ million morons will vote for him in 2020... if he makes it
He's not going to make it but if he does, no way he gets 60+ million votes. He loses re-election in a landslide. The emperor has no clothes.
I hope you're right... but that's what I said the first time around. I'll never underestimate America's capacity for doing the wrong thing ever again.
Friendly reminder: he lost the popular vote by 3 million... the wacky electoral college system handed him the presidency,  not the American voters

Im not making excuses for the 60 million dipshits that voted for him, I'm just saying he was elected and governs with minority support, not the majority

Russia is far from the only reason why Donald Trump is today President of the United States.

I didn't say the only reason. I said it was an assist and that Russia's efforts had results. Take out the coordinated effort of the Russian troll bots, Cambridge Analytica and the money to the RNC and NRA, and Hillary is president. There's a reason so many republicans have resigned and those remaining are fighting tooth and nail to obstruct justice and shut down Team Mueller.
