A notable quote from his speech tonight:
Our troops will fight to win,” Trump said. “From now on, victory will have a clear definition: attacking our enemies, obliterating ISIS, crushing al-Qaeda, preventing the Taliban from taking over the country, and stopping mass terror attacks against Americans before they emerge.”
What does that even mean really? Haven't we always fought to win, which in a sense is the irony of war because nobody really wins. Is it like the winning were experiencing now with all the big deals and business growth (sarcasm)? Or more along the lines of the Carrier deal and the MOAB strike; smoke screen bullshit. Sounds more like an opportunity to make patriots and xenophobes feel like real heroes again. Paint the other side as a big bad evil so we don't feel bad killing some more people, terrorist or not, in a country we've been "winning" in for 14+ years. Since when did occupation and foreign military expansion equal safer from terrorism? I guess they created the beast so diplomacy and communications efforts are an abyss.

Trump brings GOP and Dems together with the bi partisan issue of endless war.
“I’m proud, I’m relieved. I’m proud of the fact that President Trump made a national security decision, not a political decision. I’m proud of the fact that he listened to the generals and most proud of the fact that he shows the will to stand up to radical Islam. I’m relieved that he did not take the advice to withdraw which would’ve been disastrous, or create a mercenary army. So I’m very pleased, very thoughtful, very inspiring speech, and I can assure you, a lot of people in Congress will be behind the president,”
June 14
Yesterday afternoon, the President directed the Department of Defense to set troop levels in Afghanistan. This will enable our military to have greater agility to conduct operations, recognizing our military posture there is part of a broader regional context.

there is reportedly $1 trillion of mineral deposits in Taliban controlled areas in Afghan. These were discovered in 2014, three years after Obama pledged to wind down the war and leave Afghanistan.

Hatch, Romney, Trump, Quayle, Schumer,
See who is on that list, interesting to say the least. Ben Quayle? What, why Ben Quayle?James Danforth "Dan" Quayle (born February 4, 1947) is an American politician and lawyer. He was the 44th Vice President of the United States from 1989 to 1993 under President George H. W. Bush. He was also a U.S. Representative (1977–81) and U.S. Senator (1981–89) from the state of Indiana.
A native of Indianapolis, Indiana, Quayle spent most of his childhood living in Paradise Valley, Arizona, a suburb of Phoenix. He married Marilyn Tucker in 1972 and obtained his J.D. from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 1974. He practiced law in Huntington, Indiana, with his wife before his election to the United States House of Representatives in 1976, aged 29. In 1980 Quayle won election to the Senate.
In 1988, Vice President George H. W. Bush, the Republican Party nominee for the presidency, chose Quayle as his vice presidential running mate. The Bush/Quayle ticket won the 1988 election over Democrats Michael Dukakis and Lloyd Bentsen.
As vice president, Quayle made official visits to 47 countries[2] and was appointed chairman of the National Space Council. He secured re-nomination for vice-president in 1992, but Democrat Bill Clinton and his vice presidential running mate, Al Gore, defeated the Bush/Quayle ticket.
In 1994, Quayle published his memoir entitled Standing Firm but declined to run for public office in this time period because he was suffering from phlebitis. He sought the Republican presidential nomination in 2000, but withdrew and supported George W. Bush. In 2016, he endorsed Jeb Bush and after that he supported Donald Trump for president. Quayle and his wife reside in Paradise Valley, Arizona.
Quayle is currently the chairman of global investments at Cerberus Capital Management.
