It's pretty interesting to see, and I think the potential fallout has been a long time coming for this begrudging relationship of convenience.

It seems like the weasels are in a weasel-off, which is hopefully a nice disadvantage for the Republicans (and Trump), and can also be weaponized pretty nicely (if Democrats ever want to try to get good at that).

If Republicans stick with Trump, they risk the volatility that comes with him, pending lawsuits etc. inclusive.

If they quietly try to distance themselves with Trump, Trump will selfishly make that nearly impossible, and will make never-Republicans out of Trump lovers.

If they do an about-face and unequivocally condemn Trump, they won't be able to explain why Trump was no good but DeSantis is.

In addition, if either party waits too long, or doesn't wait long enough, the strategy would likely backfire, due to messaging misstep potential, and/or not having enough time to prop up DeSantis the way Trump has been.

A side thought - I'd love a reality TV show about Donald Trump in prison, and being delusional in thinking that he's the POTUS, trying to run the show from jail. That would be reality TV I would watch.

all they'd have to do is write it on a "contract" on a napkin and he'd think that was legit. lol. then funnel all the profits to a sexual assault charity.

Brilliant brilliance in all its brilliancy, fruit from the poisonous tree, can’t wait for the encore and BS cheering it on!

Hillary can’t wait to have a word. You know, emails, testifying, indictments. Things like that.

Indictments. Fruit from the poisonous tree?

    Suckers.

    Unfortunately, I don't think so.

Even though it would save this country, they can't stomach short term Democrat dominance.  Trump would absolutely carve out a huge portion of the republican party and create a MAGA party or something.  We would probably see the Democrat party get dragged to the left toward the fringe, and the republican party would become a central balance.

The likes of McConnell want Trump to go away naturally.  They keep kicking the can and waiting and things keep getting more dire.  They are enabling this, and they don't realize they will be the first ones to the gallows

I have known several fundamentalist and evangelical Christians who talk about how in the Book of Revelation (singular, thank you) it is told that the devil will come disguised as a saint, a false prophet.  Those who said this often talk about how the devil in disguise would be someone like Obama or some liberal or progressive.  I'm thinking they might have missed the mark on that idea a tad bit:

    Huge part of my deconstruction.

Revelation is a history, not a prophecy.
