I must have missed something. Because if people really think blaming the Chinese government for their response and blaming the Chinese government for their lack of health standards And blaming the Chinese government for allowing and the Chinese people for having and using a assbackwards meat market is being racist then I’m not really sure what to think about the people here.

    Thank! You!

After the last 3 years on this forum it’s mind boggling that now it’s not ok to call out government and leadership failures.

It’s obvious why. What bothers me the most is the outright condescending “I’m better than” you attitude.

No. But when people do the same about the Chinese government...I don't think they should be vilified.  Since, of course, it did start there.

Words matter.  There's a vast difference between
'I hate China' (which appears to have been deleted by the mods)
    'I'm pissed at China'
'Is anyone else angry at China?'

    and:
The Chinese gov't needs to be held accountable to for xyz

I think it was already said earlier, but if this is what it will take for people to get pissed at China, then great! I am all for it. I try to avoid buying things "made in China" as much as possible, but it's supremely disappointing to start checking that every time you buy and sometimes it's impossible to avoid.

I think some of the concern being pointed out by others is that the race baiting xenophobe in the White House is using this as an opportunity to shift people's attention instead of looking at the tag on the propoganda he hawk's to them at his fucked up rallies and seeing who he is really in bed with. People need to be mad at our government and at the fact that the Chinese government has been able to pull this bullshit with little to no consequences for decades. Leave the citizens out of the equation, it's their leaders. Unfortunately, we (I say that figuratively because this asshole is not someone I voted for) shot ourselves in the foot by electing this moron.

Isolationism and protectionism are failed policy.

The economy is globalized, and there's no undoing that.

xenophobia is wrong.  doesn't matter if YOU think it's "justified"
defending it (or it's "justification") makes you seem shallow.

Please take your personal disagreements with each other off of the forum. Dragging personal arguments from thread to thread is trolling and derailing topic integrity. Please be nice and respectful to each other and the forum environment. Please debate and disagree politely. If you cannot get along with someone, please put them on your ignore list.

Disagreeing with a government's policies is one thing, attacking an entire country is another. Please be mindful of your words.
