It would be hilarious if it didn't matter so much.

His revenge tour is going to be unbelievable.  It'll be interesting to see whether a critical mass of the GOP ever makes a real effort to reign him in.  I tend to doubt it...I think they all want the one-party system we're moving towards.

I doubt it too. But maybe (unlikely, but maybe) after he’s re-elected, the GOP won’t be as defensive of him because there’s no upcoming election to need him for. If by some wild chance he was impeached again during his second term, and convicted, his removal would lead to Pence as president, and give Pence a chance to run for re-election somewhat in the name of Trump. Like to avenge him or whatever.

What symbolic protest do you think Nancy is planning for the union address?  Anyone think they will stage a walk out?  Or stick with a traditional "wear X color" clothing?
Nothing , Democrats don’t have the balls to stage a walk out! What would Nancy do stay there? They could boycott it I guess but does she join them?
And ripping up the speech is the winner.  At least that is the headlines.  Didn't watch it.

So - state of the union

    1) I was displeased with how effective trumps beginning of the speech was. Sure, not accurate, but he painted a positive picture and did so as well as I have seen him.
    2) He said “I” and “my” a lot instead of we
    3) He mentioned the “previous administration” at least a handful of tines
    4) he claimed everything was the best ever. Man he created it helped move along the stupid talking points.
    5) I was surprised at how the media lambasted him for the guest in the chamber and being like a talk show...it’s like that every stinking time for every president. Stop being so obtuse and biased.
    6) the one exception being the Rush moment, awful. Fake surprise, stupid medal for a stupid guy.
    7) The second half of his speech was pretty angry. But he did highlight some of the worst position by the more left part of the presidential candidates.
    8) Trump not shaking Nancy hand was childish and stupid, not tough
    9) Nancy tipping up the speech was childish and stupid, not tough.
    10) The dem response was too long and boring after an already long time of listening to a speech. But that gov of Michigan was extremely articulate and kinda effective.

I wonder - will we ever get back to less partisanship?

  • Can Nancy Pelosi Have served up on a platter anymore the assurance of a 2020 Victory for President Trump ???
That tearing up the speech stunt last night might as well have been her tearing up her whole career...I am still laughing about it.  I cannot wait to hear what she has to say today when the President gets acquitted....Will she take anymore bait??? Happy days are here to stay....

I was so surprised to learn this morning that the speech was full of lies and mistruths.
    How is that even possible?
He is the greatest, most honest, and most transparent president in the history of presidents ever.

God bless him and rush limbaugh

Did I forget to mention that the currently elected president is a lying racist xenophobe peddling a rhetoric of fear, hate, ignorance,  jealousy, and lies?

Now imagine his advisors,  believers,  followers,  supporters, and voters.

You know I was against a Dem walkout for that speech.  And after Trump failed to take Pelosi's hand, I even thought...She should give the signal and they should all walk out.

You can;t show an ounce of respect, you don;t get respect.  What a freakin child.

They both looked like complete idiots. Par for the course for Trump. But Pelosi's losing it. There's been times I've wanted to see the Dems "sink to Trump's level" so-to-speak so they're not bullied and trampled on by him. But she looked like an angry grade-schooler here.

And no, I think this partisanship will get worse before it gets better. It's not even about legislation anymore. Just one side trying to stick it to the other. And setting aside policies, beliefs, and whatnot, and focusing just on politicking and working the system to your advantage, the Republicans are light years better than the Democrats.

Pelosi told Fox News afterward that she had destroyed the speech “because it was the courteous thing to do considering the alternatives.” She also said she was "trying to find one page with truth on it" but "couldn't."
