It seems like your own bias is at play here. Perceived negative actions by the left doesn't sway voters, or it even repels them, but negative actions by the right don't have an equal but opposite action?BS44325 said:
No. Sorry. If I am not mistaken the goal of the next congressional election is for democrats to flip red seats where Trump is unpopular. Georgia 6 is a Trump +1 district where his current approval rating is around 35% and yet an unknown Handel outperformed him with a +3. All I have been hearing on here for months is how Trump's tweets and unpopularity will be a weight around every Republican neck and this was the chance to prove it. Instead...failure. If anything Trump voters responded to the nationalization of the race and turned out in numbers not expected for a special election. So again...sorry...there is currently no evidence that Trump's tweets have a significant negative electoral effect and this is the only thing that matters. In two years Handel will be the incumbent and knowing that incumbents win ~ 95% off the time her victory margin will probably be substantially larger. If anything this is a sign that Nancy Pelosi and the #resistance are a far greater weight then Trump's twitter. Running around in black masks and p&ss^ hats is not exactly a winning look in swing districts. Never mind the smashing of windows and shooting of congressmen. The Juggler said:PJ_Soul said:

So the question I have is, is trump cutting edge with his use of twitter....or am I just seeing his tweets more than Obama because of how stupid they are?
Cause if he is using it more, he is changing the political landscape moving forward. And it can be a very effective tool. Now we just need someone who isn't a tool using it as president!!
Right. That district hasn't gone republican since the 70's. The fact that it was this close and that Handel barely mentioned Trump during the campaign should be an indicator of the opposite being true.

Considering it is literally a group of ALL older white men crafting health care legislation behind closed doors right now... I'm happy the woman beat the male, regardless of party
Especially considering that seat goes republican unless Satan himself is POTUS... and if Satan was a 2nd Amendment supporter, the seat would still go Republican
This country needs more women in positions of power, regardless of party.
Ever see a female mass shooter???0 -

Olga Hepnarová - a 22-year-old Czech woman who killed eight people by driving a truck into a crowd in Prague on July 10, 1973
Priscilla Ford - drove down a Reno sidewalk in her Lincoln on Thanksgiving Day of 1980, killing six
Brenda Spencer - the first of the American school shooters. On January 29, 1979, in San Diego she killed the principal and a custodian, and wounded eight children.
Jennifer San Marco - January 30, 2006 Jennifer forced her way into the postal processing plant where she formerly worked and killed seven people, and then herself
Let's see....mowing down people on sidewalks, school shootings, postal shootings....seems not much has changed except the frequency with which these incidents occur0 -

Of course negative actions by the right can have an equal opposite action. What I am arguing is that even though republicans polled wish Trump would stop tweeting there is currently no evidence that his tweets are having a significant negative electoral effect on the voters he needs. In fact there is more evidence that his tweets have a positive electoral effect just in plain terms of pure wins vs losses. While Trump desperately wants to be loved by the country his strategy was always geared towards winning in enough places by thinner margins. He sacrifices the more country club republican in places like Georgia 6 in order to increase his standing among Rust belt Reagan democrats. So in the end if Handel wins by a narrower margin it is irrelevant as long as the GOP wins in other places that they did not traditionally win. Again...I personally hate his tweeting too...I wish it would stop...but I won't insist that it is ineffective. It is ugly effectiveness.Go Beavers said:

The cyber attack was on the DNC and as per Jeh Johnson just this afternoon it is understood that the DNC refused to allow the FBI to examine their hacked server. The GOP acknowledges this happened and are taking this sand other areas of interference very seriously. The Senate just passed a bill 98-2 with respect to additional sanctions and also put in place regulations that would limit Trump's ability to lift sanctions. Hearings are ongoing...did you watch today? Finally Trump has been far tougher on Russia then even his biggest opponents could imagine. The relationship with NATO has actually been bolstered as member states have all volunteered to contribute more (even Canada!) and large scale training missions continue in the Baltics. A tougher stance has been taken against Russian interests in Syria. Finally just yesterday Trump met with Ukrainian leadership to seek closer ties. Ain't no fraud here.my2hands said:What's funny is the Neo Con hawk among us, and Trumps supporters in general, seem to have no issue with Tough Guy Donnie not doing shit about Russia launching a cyber attack on the American election... won't even acknowledge it... you guys are frauds

I'm not sure how people alluding to Trump potentially being mentally ill means that mental illness are politicized. D or R, if you're mentally incapable of making pragmatic decisions on behalf of the people you serve - you don't belong in that position.PJfanwillneverleave1 said:Tiki said:Mental illness should not be politicized.
