President Trump, after days of lashing out angrily at the London mayor and federal courts in the wake of the London Bridge terrorist attack, faces a convergence of challenges this week that threatens to exacerbate the fury that has gripped him — and that could further hobble a Republican agenda that has slowed to a crawl on Capitol Hill.Instead of hunkering down and delicately navigating the legal and political thicket — as some White House aides have suggested — Trump spent much of Monday launching volleys on Twitter, unable to resist continuing, in effect, as his own lawyer, spokesman, cheerleader and media watchdog.Trump escalated his criticism of London Mayor Sadiq Khan, incorrectly stating that Khan had told Londoners to not be “alarmed” about terrorism. He vented about the Justice Department, which he said pushed a “politically correct” version of his policy to block immigration from six predominantly Muslim countries, which Trump signed before it was halted in court. He also complained that Senate Democrats are “taking forever to approve” his appointees and ambassadors.Inside the White House, top officials have in various ways gently suggested to Trump over the past week that he should leave the feuding to surrogates, according to two people who were not authorized to speak publicly. But Trump has repeatedly shrugged off that advice, these people said.Untenable.

Yep. Or if voters hadn't allowed themselves to be talked into the idea that Clinton was evil, even worse than Trump... Which is, of course, absolutely ridiculous.

At work I just spoke with a woman who works at Wharton School of Business and I go "Oh wow, you have a very famous alumni right now, huh?"

Her reply was pretty telling: "Ugh....yeah, supposedly. We don't like to talk about him much around here."

Uh huh. But choosing Trump over her is insane or just plain stupid. I think it was extremely irresponsible for people to vote for him.

I think Hillary's "horrible" candidacy is overstated.  How many times does someone that experienced run for the presidency?  As far as policy... it would likely be a continuation of Obama's terms for the most part, which were positive.  We would also have Bill Clinton in a role that amounts to the closest adviser.  She is kind of unlikable personality-wise and lacks charisma which, in the age of the election becoming reality television doomed her.

With Bernie Sanders there... it shined a negative light on Clinton and the Democratic establishment.

I love Bernie... but he really put his high cost propositions in front of him, and also never would back down from his "Democratic Socialist" label.  In a general election, he would be extremely vulnerable.

I don't even think you can call Clinton horrible if you're going to call Trump horrible too. His horribleness was and is on such a different level that it doesn't work to use the same word for both people. Anyway, the short version of the story is that the voters are responsible for this whole situation, more than anyone else.

Seriously, it's something that p*sses people off the most and causes more arguing instead of honest and sincere discussion. People don't forget when someone calls them an a-hole, etc. It creates walls instead of bridges. That's why we have the Posting Guideline. Just wanted to put in a few cents. Have a beautiful weekend.

Maybe Trump is planning to take his family to another planet when this one is unlivable.

The binary black OR white 2 party electoral system is rigged.  That's why it was easy to fuck with. Between the far too long primary procedure and the joke that is the Electoral College it must be changed if not totally scrapped.

What if everyone ran for president for a month with zero outside $$? One nationwide vote with the top three vote getters  having a runoff two weeks later.  Two 3 hour debates between the 3 candidates, one the night after the initial election, and the second one with 1 week to go. Then you open it up for a week of early voting.  Strictly Popular vote.  6 weeks as opposed to a year and a half.

What if we had a real STATESMAN or STATESWOMAN as our President again and not this effing clown?
