    There's no rule that says there HAS to be a Senate trial. 
    When he's out of office, all of those sealed SDNY indictments will still be there waiting.

    The two work hand in hand. One could say that Mitch's unwillingness to vote on bills that have passed the US House of Representatives looks cowardly and political to the point of not taking the his job, OR the Constitutional process, OR the Constitution itself, seriously.

    It shouldn't happen but it might.  That it is even possible is a sign that our democracy (constitutional republic or whatever) is weak.

    Having witnesses means both sides get to ask questions. I just want the truth out there so that means having a rigged jury already is not how it should be.
