Most people look back on the era of book burning with distaste, not admiration.
They were burning other people's books, not just their own...no?
All those burned Beatles records sure did lead to the demise of their popularity. Changed the course of a nation too. Think I’ll go burn my American flag now.

They burned books that others were "encouraged" to bring forward. Not so good for those who didn't bring them forward. They might not care about their country.
The presence of an uncensored book critical of some aspect of American life in the open collections of a U.S. library can do more than a thousand propaganda tracts to convince the doubting reader of the integrity of American goals and the candor with which American shortcomings are admitted. my small self... like a book amongst the many on a shelf
I love how 1 person breaking a record now = burning books. Crazy.
But while you're at it, do you see any material difference between someone burning a book because they believe it to be unAmerican, and someone breaking a record because they believe it to be unAmerican?

This is a thread full of losers, so I'm pulling out of here to win.
Well played!
After my 45 years on this Earth, and however many concerts, albums and cds I've owned and listened to, I firmly believe that Thunder Road has the most beautiful lyrics I've ever heard. They paint the most vivid imagery for me, and how I grew up on the near west side of Cleveland. And it's capped by that line to close. But I digress... carry on with the book record burning.
I figured....can't wait to see it. Probably has tv screen walls with nothing but Michael Moore crap....except Roger and Me, cause that was is pretty good.
