First off, there were 4 complete duche bags right next to me...drunk frat retards, yelling "eddie" the whole time!!!! Then one of them yelled Fraggle Rock, and thats when eddies comment was made!!! Thats it. that was the very moment those 4 idiots killed the vibe.
It was moments like that, and through out the whole show I am reminded why I am straight edge!!! I dont preach sXe, but thats the very reason why I will not assocaite myself with those 4 fucking retards.
On a more postive note, i gald I went it was after all a great show , I have much resepct for eddie and Liam also. Artists at heart...somthing those (4) jerkoffs will never know!!!! I had (1) person from england next to me and (1) from france...they were totally perplexed by these (4) guys lack of repspect.
And to all others Peace, I enjoyed your company

Just curious, do you draft contracts for a living? Only reason I ask is cuz I do, and for that reason, I ALWAYS put numbers in parentheses :)

Pearl Jam shows (as well as Ed shows) have turned into this contest to see if you can get a song played which is really annoying... Why? Just let them/him do their/his thing

    Sorry to hear that man.

    "Fragle Rock"?
Out of all the fucking things to yell out??
    Why would someone even bother?

It's not as if Eddie is going to stop mid-sentence and compliment this asshole on his taste in stoner kid shows from the 1980's and say "Hey man wanna come back to the van after the show? I've got the entire series on DVD. We'll drink a bunch of Natural Light Beer, jerk off, and eat some chips...what do you say"?

Fucking numbskulls...I wish they would just stay back at the frat house and choke on their own fucking vomit.

Just that he wanted to congratulate them on a major accomplishment that wasn't getting enough attention. Then he talked about working security for Chevron, stuff like that and how it was great to see a competitor gaining record profits.

Thanks. Yeah, I think it was $11.6 billion this quarter.
  • Fragglerock? Are you serious? That was what provoked the deathstar stare from Eddie? What the hell does that even mean? He seemed SO angry, and he happened just as he was talking about tomas young, so I guess I sort of assumed it was some kind of horrible crack about him or Iraq or who knows what...I seriously thought Ed was trying to control the urge for a beatdown.

I did have such a good time last night despite this and the screaming thing, well my theory is that - Ed is this totally charismatic creature and people love him so much. He's written all these songs that people identify with in powerful ways, that they listen to and incorporate into their most intimate moments. And so they're just hungry for any kind of personal interaction with him that they can get. I'd rather think this than that all those screamers are drunk dumbasses. It makes me a little less annoyed during the show.

Edited to add: Anyone ever been to an Ani Difranco show? Screamers, man. It never stops. She kind of handles it the same way Ed does, sometimes with humor, sometimes open annoyance, sometimes playing along...but I think it's the same thing where her songs are just SO personal that people feel like they know her, and they want her to know them, too.

I have made No War my bathroom song now. I have heard it too many times on this last tour. Its a great song, and it means a lot to Ed, but I wouldn't be upset if he didn't play it as often as he had. But all in all, what a great two show. Some PJ fans don't understand that Ed wants sing other songs besides PJ songs. That's what makes this Tour unique. I've excepted that fact and so should the other PJ fans screaming out to play Pearl Jam songs when Ed is telling us a story.

I don't understand why people want to make it harder for him to focus on what he's doing. He's not a machine. It seems so disrespectful!

Not to beat a dead horse and my apologies for coming late to the thread (as I was just activated), but I have to say: I was at both NYC shows and it seriously hurt my soul that Eddie's story about Tomas Young was so rudely interrupted. It was so moving to hear him explain Young's situation on Monday night and how he included his address in the program and how we should write letters because he reads them every day. And I'm going to write to him because I was that touched!!!

But... it was actually PAINFUL that people could be so disrespectful of that message last night. It started going downhill for me from the first time the loser behind me started shouting "Footsteps" and "Hunger Strike" and his waste-of-flesh girlfriend egged him on like it was the most hilarious thing she'd ever heard! But whatever happened in that moment before "No More"... sad.

I'm completely disgusted with the screamers, but I have to say that part of the problem is that Ed responds to them, sometimes even asking people to repeat something. I think if he just ignored them they would eventually give up (but that may be just wishful thinking...)

Just don't yell out stupid shit in the middle of the show.
I think that's the point that people are trying to make here.

    1) Eddie knows you "Love Him" or else you wouldn't have paid $80.00 to go see him play.
    2) "Fragle Rock" is A#1 the most fucking retarded thing in the world to yell out when Ed's in the middle of talking about Thomas Young.
    3) He's not going to play fucking "Hunger Strike" by himself
    4) Ed's got the mic...you don't
    5) We paid to hear Eddie Vedder...not a bunch of drunk half wits bellow out jibberish and stupid incoherent bullshit throughout the show.

    Cheers.

Oh god, I saw Neil Young at a small show in March...it was riddled with chancers yelling out when we wanted to let Neil take his time and speak....I agree, bloody infuriating, what the hell is wrong with these loud mouths? Do they suppose everyone likes the sound of their voice as much as they do?

"put food on your family" is one of the many famous george bush quotes...not sure why it would be yelled out at a show...

Do people think I like it when they blow their second hand smoke at me? Or their weed?
I guess I am a little more patient with people. I am not one to complain about someone coming and going for beer if they want to.

I was in row BB dead center, the guy did yell Fragglerock! It was just bad timming. Ed was talking about his Friend and the meaning of the song. If it would of been any other song, but that one it might of been funny. I would of been pissed to if I took the time to write a song for a friend that was hurt in the war and someone was making fun of it, with or without knowing they were making fun of it.

There is no smoking inside anywhere in Britain :p
I mean it's fucking irritating when you're sat there listening to Neil Young talk, which is as rare a treat as it is to see Ed in such an environment, and some prick just yells out "I love you Neil", or "Down by the river"...or any number of pointless things.
There were 3000 people in the Hammy Appolo that night and 2985 of us were irritated by it....2986 if you included Neil !
Just be aware, no one likes it, I mean what if we all started yelling like simpletons? It would degenerate into just another concert :p
