Ed singing with them for the R&RHoF was an huge early highlight for me.
I remember my friend's girlfriend downloading this from a Napster type of site for me years ago and it blew me away. So damn cool.

I've got a silver pressing of those songs. Isn't it like 3 songs?

Sucks PJ didn't bring those songs into the live rotation. Otherwise they seem to do it, when they have to learn a cover they keep it for their own shows. At least later in their career.

I picked up Other Voices on vinyl over the weekend for $3.99.
Spinning it for the first time now. Pretty cool.

WOW! This is going to be good. I've never heard of Axis TV. I hope I get it.
When you find the channel be sure to browse the other programs. Watched a very interesting Big Interview with Robert Plant last night that I am sure they will replay and they have half hour highlights of 'Classic Albums' that are fun. An upcoming one on one of the greatest/most influential heavy metal albums ever made, British Steel. Set the DVR for that as well.

THE DOORS (1967). One of the iconic albums in rock history. And even though it is great and with some of the The Doors’ biggest hits, it is not my personal favorite by the band.

TRANGE DAYS (1967). Second album by The Doors and made up to an extent from songs that didn’t make it onto the debut. A great follow up half a year after the first one.

Got addicted to the Doors after seeing the movie The Doors in 1991. It's amazing the production these guys put out! Basically they released 6 albums in 4 years. Glad they did because 4 years is such a short career! I believe they sold more albums in the early 90's than they did during their 4 year run.

I've loved The Doors since the early 80s and have dragged 2 ex-girlfriends and my wife to Jim's grave on different visits to Paris (not at the same time!). I've also got a 20 year old son who is really into them too and is in a band called Spanish Caravan.
Favourite song - Shaman's Blues from The Soft Parade
I crashed my dad's car on July 3 1985 while playing my LA Woman cassette and heard from the insurance on December 8th. Is that a coincidence?

THE SOFT PARADE (1969). The bands fourth album and their first dip in quality in my opinion. It still sounds like The Doors and Jims voice is as charismatic as ever - but the album is more of a wash. Many of the songs don't stay with me.

I just read through this entire thread (not being allowed to go anywhere is good for catching up). It has prompted me to download a heap of The Doors' back catalogue off of Apple Music. I got into them via their Greatest Hits on the recommendation of a friend aged 15, I never recovered.
