Wow MSG - WAKE UP!

Really guys? You people in the front are like watching a cemetery wake.

Are you sleeping? WAKE. UP.

This was inevitable. This isn't Pearl Jam where they know all the songs front and backwards. As long as they're having fun, who cares.

I would much rather see TOTD in a theater. Weird to have a band who has never toured play an arena out the gate. Of course this isn't just any band.

There's a curiosity factor to this tour. It's like seeing a unicorn. No one ever thought it would happen and people have to see it to believe it. Let people enjoy the show however they want to.
  • I started thinking the same thing while at the Tower. Then it hit me, this is much more than a concert, it's a celebration of a life. We were rocking out, but listening to the words sung live for the first time. Also feeling the energy of the music and the moment being given off by the band. Hard to describe, but it was a magnificent experience.

    Majority of songs were ballad-esque...

  • The op was right. I was in section 119 and the crowd was dead. Loudest cheers of the night was when Chris said Eddie's name and when they started to play times of trouble thinking it was footsteps.

Loved the show. Had 12th row on the floor on mikes side. It was kind of surreal after so many Pearl Jam shows to see "my" band up there with a singer other than Eddie vedder. Very weird.

  • Have to agree.. BUT we're spoiled. The band killed it, Cornell was great vocally and engaged the audience early and often. Couldn't ask for anything more. Just wasn't the same magic as a PJ show.. not a bad thing, we shouldn't expect that.. but really puts things into perspective and make you appreciate EV that much more!!!

You were the row behind me. Did you see a guy walk in last second? (Thought they were going on at 9). Then Leave during Wooden Jesus (tthe second song) because in our rush to get to our seats we left a jacket near the bar haha.

Watching mike shred is always a treat.

It was a bit of a mind fuck for awhile. That band sounded so good. Then I remembered-it is fucking pearl jam. Cameron's drums were insane and I could feel it in my bones. Totally exceeded expectations. So glad I went.

    Oh god.

I remember I went to a DMB show in MSG in, maybe 2005. My friend had 4th row seats which was cool.

My time was temporarily ruined by some girl who turned around 3 times to scream in my face to make more noise.

Like, holy shit, just let me watch/listen to the fucking show.

Way too much of this going on.
...got a mind full of questions and a teacher in my soul...
  • Everybody has their own way to enjoy a show. For TOTD in particular, I hardly jumped around and I'm usually the first to do so. I focused on what was happening on stage this time as it was an experience I thought I'd never get.

Also, the second I walked into Tower Theater, I shut my phone off. Enjoy the moment.

yeah kind of contradictory to post about people not rocking out while you're on your phone complaining about them

this is a set of shows no one thought would ever happen....different vibe that to me isn't a rock out show, but more of a celebration...its not Pearl Jam
